If you wanted to buy some really high quality 100% cotton luxury bedding (duvet set) with really great designs, where would you look?

Want to treat myself and don’t want to use anything like Amazon etc.

Thank you

The M&S x Fired Earth bedding is lovely. I have a plain set but also a patterned tile-print. They have Moroccan and Indian-style patterns also.

TOAST have great quality bedding in natural and interesting fabrics and colours.

Sheridan. Australian brand - fabulous quality and they do bold prints.

Another vote for Yves Delorme. Absolutely gorgeous French bedding but very expensive!

Following with interest.

The last decent quality bedding (high thread count/Egyptian cotton) I got was from British Home Stores but their online store only does duvets in drab, bland, neutral, boring colours now. Great for sheets (which they no longer seem to sell) but not for duvets and covers.

However, if you're a child and want unicorns, spacemen and jungle creatures then there's loads of colourful bedding around. Obviously once you turn into an adult you only want bland and neutral. Or country cottage floral. Which, yeah, it's nice and all that but if you like bold and colourful then, you're out of luck.

Sheridan is my recommendation. I have had sheets and duvet covers for years and a I mean decades and they still look like new. Feel luxurious too. Have had several guests ask about them as they felt so good and comfortable.

carlitaclarita · 26/02/2026 21:16

I think it might actually be easier to get on a plans to India and have a duvet cover made especially. Totally self indulgent and first worldy but I don’t often have spare cash so fuck it, I’m going to find what I want or I won’t buy anything at all. Bright colours make me happy - and oh @15minutesadayyou made me laugh with your reference to British Home Stores! My mother was the only person I knew who said it in full, to everyone else it was BHS.

@carlitaclarita ahh, but BHS, to me, stands for British Horse Society Grin

... although horse blankets can be brightly coloured ... Confused

Make your own! Patchwork quilt. Google 'kantha quilts'.

Actually, you can buy kantha quilts, probably for a lot less than the cost of a flight to India.

This. We have four sets and they’re all wonderful.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 26/02/2026 21:44

Just linens offer many brands including Sheridan.

AlanisMorningShed · 26/02/2026 21:52

There's also some nice M&S pure cotton bedding in V&A designs

Guavafish1 · 26/02/2026 21:54

Forever england

carlitaclarita · 26/02/2026 21:59

I have a kantha quilt, and although I love it, it’s a pain to wash/dry etc. I put it in the machine once and it’s been a bit lumpy ever since so should probably have been dry clean only.
But that’s what I’d love: a kantha style design on an easy washable duvet cover.

Thank you for the ongoing suggestions. Forever England also has some beautiful stuff.

We just bought some pottery barn bedding, it’s absolutely beautiful. Also rate the white company duvets and pillows.

rosyvalentine · 27/02/2026 01:42

Linen Bundle (online) have some really good quality, high thread count bed linen.

Margo Selby! Beautiful patterns and good quality.

I second Margo Selby! You can get some of the main range in John Lewis, but we have the Ronda set from Habitat and it's an absolute steal for the quality - beautiful thick cotton and jacquard weave design on the front so it looks far less tacky than cheap printed patterns.
