Pink paint for living room

We're redecorating our living room and the family decision is a pink colour for the walls. We're looking for a "grown-up" pink.

Either a blush pink with yellowish tones, but I don't want it to look peach or terracotta, so it's a fine balance.

Or pink with grey tones, but don't want it to look lilac-ish.

Not really sure which would look best.

Our house is 1950s, and the room is south facing with a large bay window so sunny and bright in the day time . It has the original coved ceiling which I want to keep white (see pic with coved ceiling a freshly plastered wall!).

Can anyone recommend any pink paints in these shades?

What colour are you getting ?

pastypirate · 16/12/2021 10:01

A friend has f&b calamine Witt black and gold floral stuff it looks amazing

CliveAntichrist · 16/12/2021 12:49

@Double3xposure it's called Fern and is a paleish greeny grey colour.

The room is going to be pink/ green hues. It'll either be fab or hideous! Grin

Replacing the broken okd hearth tiles with the attached. The Edwardian tiles of the fireplace are what I am basing most of my design around.

I’d say Calamine in a S or W facing room. The S or W light warms it up and makes it a grown up pink (in N it looks too cold and grey).

Setting Plaster is great in a N facing room, really warm. It’s too peachy in a S or W room.

If you want to look at other brands, Sanderson has some really lovely pinks, and Craig & Rose.

Beautiful fireplace too.

Are you pleased with the carpet now it’s down?

In one of the episodes of the new series of Escape to the Chateau, Angel painted her parent's new bedroom in a lovely blush pink. Does anyone know what that paint colour was - or how I can find out?

CliveAntichrist · 26/12/2021 14:39

@Double3xposure here is the finished room with the carpet.

Absolutely in love with the STP walls 😍

That’s great @CliveAntichrist! I like the way you’ve mixed the original features with the retro accessories. And the wall colour is lovely !

Thanks @Double3xposure Smile

It's been a hell of a renovation! It was looking like the first two pictures in November! 🙈

@CliveAntichrist good job on the insulation as well.

CliveAntichrist · 26/12/2021 17:59

@Double3xposure the original ceiling was full of stress cracks. We have been here 2.5 years and knew it needed doing as the thought of an Edwardian lathe and plaster ceiling coming down on top of us was a bit daunting!

Had been putting it off due to the disruption, cost and general mess but got it done at the end of November and so glad we did. It was a hideous job, but the builders we used were amazing and efficient. They had it down and rebounded out in 2 days!

They came out of the room the first day looking like they had been down a mine!

Double3xposure · 27/12/2021 09:31

YY it’s a very messy job.
