In the process of decorating living room. It is currently a bland cream colour but we have decided to go with sage green.
Out sofas are a beige cream which we are keeping, and floor is medium oak. We are not good at mixing colours. DH thinks green curtains
In a darker shade than the sage but I'm not sure. Was considering a silver grey but not sure would go with walls and sofas.
Any suggestions welcome

A light taupe - natural but a darker tone than your sofa, and brown-grey colour.

Some good suggestions will go and have a look. I like the idea of taupe or pink .

I love green and pink together. I agree with having patterned curtains with plain walls.

I agree with going for a pattern and then you can pick and accent colour out for cushions, accessories etc. I have one green wall, green sofa, white walls but orange throw but I like colour and nothing too bland.

A dusky pink looks amazing with sage green

We have a sage green living room and have curtains a bit like these. The purple, cream and sage go really well together.

I'm also looking at Manuel Canovas patterned linen for blinds. It's expensive, but there are some lovely patterns.

I have sage green paint in a bedroom and the curtains are a very thick cotton with a pale green and white pinstripe.

If most things are neutral without a pattern what about a delicate appliqué pattern in sage green/neutral?

I have got dark olive green. I love it.

GAH I didn't mean to put up that photo because it doesn't really capture either colour

batmanladybird · 23/10/2021 15:28

I don't like plains either
I have sage walls and have curtains similar to this from John Lewis

@SwedishEdith

I'd definitely go for a pattern/design on a cream background. Plain colours just end up looking like another wall.

Something like this

Ooh is that from escape to the chateau? Love this

@batmanladybird Yes, it is!
