Has anyone got a pink kitchen?

Not bright pink cabinets, but powder pink walls?

We are doing an extension and I want it to feel light. The other downstairs room is a living room that will be quite 'cosy' in F&B De Nimes, so i want a different feel for the kitchen and to get away from Dark Blues.

Kitchen coming from Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch and will probably be a pale grey - Dimpse maybe, with brushed brass D handles, and I thought a powder pink would be light and airy on the walls. Crittall style industrial doors (with brick slips around them) at one end, kitchen at the other. So the living area would be the garden/bifold door end and this is the bit that will have the most 'wall' showing.

If you have got any kind of a pink vibe in your kitchen and don't mind sharing pics, i'd love to see. DH can't imagine anything other than sugary/garish pink I'm trying to show him that it doesn't have to be like that. Found some stuff on Pinterest etc but mostly it's all a bit bling.

Can't see much of the pink on this pic but didn't take any from the other angle 😂

Ooh, fiftysixthnanechange, that’s very lovely too! It looks great.

I just love to see proper, original colours rather than the “all my poshest friends have this” ubiquitous schemes.

I have walls in powdery pink (lightest shade of Fuchsia Falls if it is searchable).
Dark grey worktops and oak units, black cooker with black slightly reflective glass doors and chrome knobs etc, a lighter grey and white checked floor, a plain bright red window blind and bench cushion, and quite bright ceiling lighting.
Like it all, the floor makes it though. The pink is very pale but warm - tested it on cream walls and was very scared of what the result would be as it really looked in-yer-face pink then, but it turned out fine once all covered.

Hi, I love your floor! Is it tiles?
Fiftysixthnamechange · 10/03/2021 16:33

Hi, yes it's tiles!

Mine’s a b&q pale pink called Kyoto, looks lovely with copper accessories.

I am gradually smuggling pink into our house and have painted the inside of the kitchen window recess and the back wall of the alcove to the side of the chimney breast. I used Pink Ground, which I originally bought for a bathroom, but which looked like Germolene in situ (Dulux Pink Blush worked however). Looks great in the kitchen/breakfast room however. The kitchen units are glossy white, with a black granite worktop and oak flooring, windows, doors, skirting boards Fired Earth Oyster. So everything is pretty neutral. The walls are mostly F&B French Grey, which is actually green.

Green and pink is one of my favourite combinations I realise, and I'm working out how to do this in the sitting room and dining room next! (We've got soft sagey green carpet in those rooms and curtains with lots of pink and green, so a theme is definitely emerging). Currently looking at Little Greene's China Clay (comes in pale, mid, deep and dark), Mylands Kensington Rose and St James. Colette100, any thoughts?

Think I might treat myself to a pink bin to add more pink to the kitchen! Have already put geraniums in terracotta pots on the windowsill.

Go for it OP - Pink Army! Pink Army!

@Tightwad2020 Ooohhh I like the idea of smuggling pink into the house furtively and under the radar

I also prefer the Dulux pink blush to F&B pink ground. I'm hoping to do the bedroom it it and sneak in get a new bed with a huge green velvet headboard.

hamstersarse · 19/03/2021 13:11

I've just painted my bedroom with F & B Middleton Pink and a cut in bottom strip of London Clay, and then some upcycled furniture in Tanners Brown with some floral wallpaper embedded in.

It really is lovely, even if I say so myself. Pink is a total change for me. I have loads of cherry blossom type of stuff going on in the accessories, and these drapes from Rockett St George which are really gorgeous

Love that velvet panel @hamstersarse

Tightwad2020 · 19/03/2021 19:40

@SheenMcQueen I read that certain pinks can be passed off as 'beige' to reluctant partners/family members. Dunno about that, but might be worth a try.

I do actually like the Pink Ground, it just didn't look right in the bathroom. It is very much soft pink and not a brown or peach colour in my kitchen.

We have Middleton pink cabinets with brass handles and blackened on the walls. South facing bright kitchen.

23PissOffAvenueWF · 19/03/2021 19:44

There’s loads of different permutations of pink kitchens on Pinterest.

SheenMcQueen · 19/03/2021 20:55

@actiongirl1978 I'd love to see that if you are up for sharing?

SavannahLands · 19/03/2021 21:23

We have the Gentile Dawn in our kitchen, with Howdens Tewkesbury Cashmere shade units, fitted with brushed Stainless steel Door and Draw handles. Fairy Neutral pinkish shades, with deeper pink shades in the window blinds, and accessories. I'm still waiting to get my Rhyno flooring fitted once lockdown is over. The original tiled floor has a Beige Teracotta shade to it, which has too much of a warm tone to go with the rest of the decor, hence the need to cover it up. It would be too much of a big job to take it all up and do a total replacement.

Hi OP I have tried 4 times to attach a photo but it won't post! I'll have another go later
