Has anyone got a pink kitchen?

Not bright pink cabinets, but powder pink walls?

We are doing an extension and I want it to feel light. The other downstairs room is a living room that will be quite 'cosy' in F&B De Nimes, so i want a different feel for the kitchen and to get away from Dark Blues.

Kitchen coming from Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch and will probably be a pale grey - Dimpse maybe, with brushed brass D handles, and I thought a powder pink would be light and airy on the walls. Crittall style industrial doors (with brick slips around them) at one end, kitchen at the other. So the living area would be the garden/bifold door end and this is the bit that will have the most 'wall' showing.

If you have got any kind of a pink vibe in your kitchen and don't mind sharing pics, i'd love to see. DH can't imagine anything other than sugary/garish pink I'm trying to show him that it doesn't have to be like that. Found some stuff on Pinterest etc but mostly it's all a bit bling.

Hiya,

There was this thread recently that might give you some ideas: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/home_decoration_pictures/4159514-Looking-for-a-sophisticated-pink-colour

I’m about to paint my kitchen F&B Middleton pink. It’s very pale and feels quite clean and fresh.

Peignoir just looked grey to me, not pink at all. I liked Calamine too but it’s a bit too dirty pink for me.. would be nice in a country style kitchen.

Oooh helpful thread - thank you. I am leaning towards Pink Ground but worried it's a bit 'peachy'. I'll have a trawl through the thread you linked.

Peignoir went purple in my DDs bedroom - it's a real chameleon of a colour.

Yes, I felt pink ground and setting plaster had more peachy/yellow warm undertones

RuthW · 04/03/2021 12:06

I have. At work now so can't take a pic

Crazzzycat · 04/03/2021 14:22

I painted my kitchen walls Pink. It doesn’t look particularly peachy to me, but it’s definitely a warm pink.

It’s a really versatile colour, but I don’t think it would look particularly great with a cool light grey like Dimpse. It needs something warmer. My kitchen units are a light cream, oak worktop and light sage tiles, so everything is warm in tone

Crazzzycat · 04/03/2021 14:24

Sorry, that ⬆️ should have said “I painted my kitchen walls Pink Ground” 🤦‍♀️

Not a pink kitchen but lots of pink accents around the house and massive pink shelves from Neptune in the living room. Their Pink Peppercorn shade is lovely. It’s a proper lovely ‘not too sweet’ pink.

SollaSollew · 04/03/2021 15:45

I don't have pink in my kitchen but yours sounds like a lovely combination and as soon as my bedroom is done in a couple of weeks I'll be painting it Peignoir. I recently went pink in my bathroom and ended up mixing Dead Salmon and Sulking Room Pink together to make exactly the shade I wanted then had it scanned and colour matched at Brewers. (I am having a bit of a thing with pink at the moment clearly!)

It might be an option if you can't find exactly the right colour?

Yes I have, F&B setting plaster. I love it, have dark blue units and a bit of crazy floor!

Neverspeakofthisagain · 04/03/2021 21:42

OH pleeeeeeeease share some non-outing photos - your kitchens sound lovely. @colette100. Thanks as ever for some colour clarity - Pink Bliss looks promising...

I have pink kitchen walls. White cupboards, green island cupboards and grey framed sliding doors. I think it works really well. The pink is a nice warm colour.

Saz12 · 05/03/2021 18:20

Chickenandegg8 - that looks lovely!

Jalapinot · 05/03/2021 18:24

My kitchen is farrow and ball calamine. Annoyingly it photographs terribly!

lazylinguist · 05/03/2021 18:37

Clicked on the thread out of curiosity because I'm not a big fan of pink and couldn't quite imagine a nice pink kitchen, but your pics have converted me, Chickenabdegg8 - that shade of pink looks absolutely beautiful! It would look lovely with pale grey cupboards, OP.

Maryward · 05/03/2021 18:49

My cabinets are very pale pink. I really like them😀

I’ve got dulux gentle fawn in mine. It’s a neutral with a pinkish tinge depending on the light.

imip · 05/03/2021 18:54

I’m looking for the same type of colour in my sitting room. I was considering f&b peignoit. This tendency to purple does worry me. I’m going for a big black chandelier with a grey sofa - going lilac will ruin it. North facing room, if it makes a difference. Watching with interest.

Neverspeakofthisagain · 05/03/2021 18:58

@Chickenandegg8 GLORIOUS! What pink is that? It's beautiful. Thank you for sharing, your pics are going to help me convert people I think :)

@Mayward, your cabinets are also beautiful.

I bloody love pink when it's done right.

Thanks 😊
It’s Johnstone’s covaplus 0907-y90r.
It’s a lovely shade, not to pink. Our room is north west facing so doesn’t get much sun in the winter so we wanted something warm. We’re really pleased with it.

Sunnyday321 · 05/03/2021 19:58

When we moved in we decorated every room ( painted ) I chose all the colours except the kitchen , dh picked that colour. His choice was Calypso Pink , and yes it's as Shock & Confused as it sounds !
