Design a reading room

I have a home office/study that is never used and generally just full of random crap. I'd love to turn it into a reading room. Massive armchair etc, a sanctuary to retreat to and lose myself in a book. Any suggestions or ideas?

Extreme reading rooms! More likely spam.

Haha OK if the first one was angry at your lack of books #BooksAreAlive #DontBinBooks #ReadingRoomsNeedBooks then maybe the last one is indignant that you're wasting a room on reading HATES books #OrnamentsNotBooks

I didn't bin any books - no books were harmed in the making of this room :D I just now prefer to read on my kindle and not collect books. Each to their own and all that. It's not diminished reading by not having a hard copy of a book! The things that bother people Grin

Back to the room ...! We bought the Strandrom armchair and footstool from Ikea recently. It’s extremely comfortable and comes in lots of colours. It’s got a high back and is quite low to the floor which makes it feel relaxing. I’m thinking of getting another one as we both like it so much.
