Which turquoise?

Family bathroom is nearly finished, and I just can’t decide which turquoise the pain the walls above the tiles. Please vote! Or do be honest if you hate both; I can take it.

I agree that the lighter colour is horribly insipid, and quite an obvious choice as well.

Go with your instinct - it’s only fair given that it’s your DH’s choice that the flooring is dark...

You could possibly appease your daughter by allowing her a choice of another accent colour for the odd pop here and there. Get her a colour wheel to work from, though (just so she picks a colour that actually goes). You could possibly even use the lighter colour as the accent colour although I’d have to see them together in person in order to know if it works.

I think the smaller, bluer one is nicer but it wid be dark.

The darker one

Good idea to appease dd with her choice of accent colour. I could let her choose the towels. And maybe a picture. This is the family bathroom after all!

I’m not too worried about the room feeling dark - it’s a really big room with a large west facing window. Although I could be wrong!

Lighter walls, go to the darker side in towels. Going so dark in random blocks of wall will overpower and make the room feel smaller & the darker the paint the more you see condensation when it gets steamy.

No, go with it. Darker colours don’t necessarily make a room look darker. Especially if you’ve got a big window.

Also dark colours don’t always make a space seem smaller.

I prefer the darker one, the other one looks a bit bland to me, or wishy washy. I suppose if you done an area with the lighter one, it would be easier to go over with darker if you don't like it.

Darker one, for a sharper look

I ended up down a rabbit hole looking at paint colours! I do agree about darker colours, I love super dark (like f&b studio green) but I'm just not a fan of that colour of paint itself.
Tricky choice OP but the herringbone marble is gorgeous so it'll look great regardless I think!

I like the bolder darker one. I think k the other will look a bit washed out next to the rest of the decor.

Thanks everyone! Pretty even results now. Hmm. I have to make a decision today, so will be doing some more intense staring at walls and trying to imagine the whole thing!

Honestly, you should trust my endorsement and go with your instinct. It will be much, much nicer with the darker colour.

I like the darker. You could use both on different walls but I think all dark would look fab!

I'd go with the L&G paint - have just decorated with L&G for the first time and it was a dream.

OP, what are those gorgeous grey tiles behind? Are they for floors too? They look like exactly what I have been looking for, lol.

It's exactly what I have been looking for since January Grin. Thanks a lot, and come back and show us your finished bathroom. Both the turquoises are gorgeous, btw. I have Crown Dragonfly in mine, which is a bit brighter than it appears on screen. Probably close to the one you selected.

It’s done! And I love it. I’m so glad I went bold. Dh really likes it too despite his apprehension. Dd hasn’t said much beyond demanding to be the first one to try out the bath!

(Note: the airing cupboard door is open because the paint isn’t fully dry. It does shut properly normally.)
