Interior design help needed, with pictures

I really struggle with interior design and I think I have made yet another style mistake.

I have an awkward long living room with double bays and a fireplace in the middle. I have been struggling for a while to decide how to furnish it as I had a track record of making expensive errors.

I have recently purchased the attached blue chair and footstool and it doesn't seem to look right at all. The rest of the room is grey (sofa, item of furniture and paint behind the fire). Should I cut my losses and try again or is there something I could do to make this work?

Ignore the TV - it is to be changed to something more discreet.

There isn't any seating you can easily see it from. My phone is playing up today!

@GatoradesDream That set up looks very good and I love that blue chair a lot!
I agree you should think of getting nice paintings over the radiator and definitely fabric on your window that would add a ‘homely’ feeling and the room will look more cosy.
If you not a big fan of curtains maybe roman blinds?
I know it’s quite late and you probably done that room already but I looked at your image and I couldn’t resist 🙈 and i've created very quick visuals/collages based on your picture 😢
however because I am new hear im not allow to post any images need to wait 28days - any way I will do that after that period then 😊
good luck with your little project 😄
