Anyone have an ikea mattress?

jollyjester · 15/05/2017 22:48

I need a new mattress and I found the ikea hovag one to be quite comfortable.

Currently have a silentnight and its so uncomfortable after 5 years.

Anyone got the ikea one or recommend something firm?

Sorry to revive an old thread but considering buying a hovag mattress, does anyone from this thread have an update and still recommend it? Tia

I have a Hovag, bought this year and no problem with a chemical smell. I do find it gets very warm for some reason, I think I bought the medium firm and I found it too hard, after 7 months I am liking it much more.

I love my Ikea mattress, it's sprung with memory foam topper...

They do a 90 day/night trial too ... 😉

Little update in case anyone cares 😁 we bought the hovag mattress and had our first night on it. Very comfy but a bit hot, not such a bad thing in the winter but taking some adjustment. After sleeping on our collapsed mattress it was like sleeping on a cloud. We went for the med firm one and I am glad we did.

Hi, sorry to go back to an old thread but we just accidentally purchased med/firm instead of firm. With you have purchased med/firm and having had it a couple of years, would you still recommend? Thank you!Smile

I have both a firm and a medium firm hovag, and I definitely prefer the medium. I find the firm is too firm.

Thank you mineallmine, really appreciate the response. Made me feel better about purchasing the wrong one 😊. Have you had it for long and is it wearing well as I've heard they can sag? Smile Thank you

Mine are in our holiday home so not getting everyday use but they're about 3 years in and are perfect. My daughter has a hovag single mattress at home and it's there about 7 years and is perfect. I think they're great.

@NotaDoctor109 I bought medium firm for my daughter and she found it too firm so I had it swapped. I think you can try it for something like 100 days. So you can change it if you want.

Sorry I meant firm...

Thank you for responding. The try for 90 days thing is amazing, it's so difficult to choose a matress just from a few minutes in the store. Really appreciate the response, I shall try medium/firm as you did Smile x

I have a sultan, they've replaced it.
I also have a memory foam Ikea one. Slightly soft.

Both are fine. I use a topper, not from Ikea.

@MikeUniformMike Do you have medium/firm or firm? Thank you Smile

I can't remember, NotaDoctor109, Medium I think.
It's fine, but I would go for firm next time.
It is very good for the price. I thought it would be hot and sweaty but it isn't - I tried it without the mattress topper once, but as I don't want to get rid of the topper, I use it.

The memory foam one is much lighter than the sultan. A consideration if you need to get it upstairs, turn it, and so on.

@NotaDoctor109, It's the Morgedal, and it doesn't seem to have a medium or firm option.

It is much softer than the Sultan.
