What would you put above the bed?

I would like to put something above the bed but I'm not sure what 🤔

I have a feature wall that is a Laura Ashley bird wallpaper, we matched the rest of the walls to the background colour of the paper so its pretty subtle depending on the light.

My gut instinct is that a painting will compete with the pattern of the wallpaper, so I was thinking more like a sunburst mirror or a sculptural piece. It's also slightly complicated by the chimney breast taking the bed off centre. It used to have a fitted wardrobe to the right so we took it down to get the superking in there and there's no option for a headboard as the bed doesn't sit flush against the wall.

I'm enclose a photo.

Nothing. I think if you put a mirror or picture there it will simply call attention to the sticky out bit of wall, which is nicely disguised by the wallpaper at the moment.

Maybe some different cushions on the bed that look a bit more deliberately chosen (eg to match the curtains or wallpaper). And I'd also consider painting your bedside tables. But really, nothing on the wall.

A mirror would look ok over the bed, particularly a rectangular one hung widthways, or a sunburst like the op said. I'd put some shelves in the alcove or have a small dressing table made to fit. Also the bed is crying out for a headboard- the idea of covering foam and attaching it to the wall would work well.

No helpful suggestions, but I LOVE the wallpaper. Will be showing Mr Coco later!

The wallpaper is oriental garden by Laura Ashley. There are quite a few different colour ways but I think I chose Natural.
