Please say the weather is a bit better over there!

I have my fingers crossed that we will at last get some proper summer weather when we go next weekend...

ComeOVeneer · 11/08/2008 16:29

Charente Maritime, near Sainte and Cognac.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/08/2008 16:31

Oh, I do hope it is better there.

We are driving down to the Cantal on Friday. I am hoping and praying the weather is better there (though the area has a tendency to piss it down. I think it is the Manchester of France ).

Milliways · 11/08/2008 16:40

We were at Bretignolles (Southern Vendee) and came back Saturday.

It was cloudy some days, and rained a bit (2 days?) - but it was warm and we all tanned. When the sun broke through it was scorching so we were quite grateful for the cloud. Only one day was a washout, every other day we did beach and/or pool. The Charente is a bit furtyher South & normally better than the Vendee.

Lurk...ready for my trip this week.

According to \lin{http://www.holiday-weather.com/vendee/seven-day-forecast.html\this site} things are going downhill until Weds and then start picking up (in the Vendee). It is the wind/breeze which concerns me...looks a bit blustery.

We travel Thurs

littlerach · 11/08/2008 16:46

CoV we are going near Saintes on saturday too...

Weather forecats for general La Rochelle area seems ot be cloud and sunshine, with rain on Thursday.
Great.

My friend is near Alicante for almost all of August and it is hot, hot, hot

DontNeedAnything · 11/08/2008 16:47

Maybe we should have a MN meet somewhere on teh venedee!!

castille · 11/08/2008 16:52

I live in Brittany and it's been rather nice lately - not boiling, low 20s, but hardly any rain.

The rest of this week looks pretty grim though

Happy hols all anyway!

auntyquated · 11/08/2008 17:06

we came back from the dordogne on thursday and had 2 weeks of glorious weather.
5 thunderstorms but 4 of them in the middle of the night

castille · 11/08/2008 17:07

you might miss the worst then - it's supposed to be wet on and off most of this week but the long-range is more hopeful

littlerach · 11/08/2008 17:20

Yes, I know, cod.
Went though yesterday and notice don the sign.

TheGirlWithGreenEyes · 11/08/2008 17:27

We are going to the Vendee too - so thanks for the info Milliways. Sounds similar to the weather we had there last year...

I'm back from France within the last hour.

Weather was not great, I'm afraid. Drizzle to torrential rain!

This was Paris and just to the north-east of it.
