I’ve done so much searching - it’s exhausting. Im
hoping you can help.

I’ve got 3 girls, 7, 5 and 6 months. We’ve recently been to an Iberostar and could not fault it. I think it’s made the search for a summer holiday even harder. We have to go during the school holidays.

We want to get away for 10-14 days. We don’t really mind where but have mainly been looking at Majorca, Greece and Turkey.

We have a budget of 5-6k. We don’t need mega slides as children are only young but they enjoy the pool and evening entertainment. And a nice mix of people. So far I’ve narrowed it down to:

Iberostar Club Cala Barca (mainly because it’s an Iberostar)
Zafiro Mesquida
Zafiro Can picafort
Sun Beach Resort (Rhodes)
Atlantica Princess Hotel (Rhodes)
Arcunus Hotels Sorgun (Turkey)
Barut b Suites (Turkey)

I’d appreciate any advice of either the above or a new recommendation.

Hoping you can help! Thank you!

Pine Bay Resort, Kusadasi. The only place we ever went twice.

BarbaraVineFan · 13/05/2025 20:27

Jiva Beach Resort, Calis . We have been there twice and booked again for next year. Is amazing!

Dreichweather · 13/05/2025 20:27

I loved Zafiro Can picafort.

Rainbows2018 · 13/05/2025 20:28

Thanks @DemonsandMosquitoes but it’s over budget

We really enjoyed Hotel Arminda in Crete, not a big all inc which suited us but doesn’t have 15 restaurants and 20 bars so doesn’t offer that sort of thing if that’s what you want but the rooms and pool were lovely, great food and hotel gym was top notch.

Rainbows2018 · 13/05/2025 21:05

@Twilightstarbright id actually seen this one yesterday. How was the food and entertainment?

I loved Club Cala Barca, nice and spread out, great pools, gorgeous coast line!
Not sure on price but we stayed at Rodos Princess in Kiotari Rhodes last summer, gorgeous hotel, great food.
Iberostar Bouganville Playa Tenerife was really good, great food and entertainment.

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 13/05/2025 21:10

Iberostar selection Lanzarote park is excellent but i expect out of budget

Rainbows2018 · 13/05/2025 21:41

@NeedthatFridayfeeling we can only afford Cala Barca…is it good for an Iberostar? The others look amazing! Some people are moaning about how busy entertainment is

Rainbows2018 · 13/05/2025 21:42

Thanks @CaveMum i’ll have a look at the Majorca one. It’s in budget 😀

I thought it was good, apart from the self serve ice cream at the food trucks, tasted like custard. Yes the entertainment area does get busy so you need a seat early on.
Beautiful location, we did a few walks nearby to beaches and a town.
My daughter loved the pools and the kids club

Twilightstarbright · 14/05/2025 07:22

@Rainbows2018 i liked the food but I will caveat that I am not a beige food lover so for
me the meat and veggies with various carbs was fab but the friends we went with felt there was less typical kid food for their kids.

Evening show and mini disco were fine, you sit in a stone amphitheatre which is nice but it’s far more low key than the Holiday Village places. TBH I’d rather sit in a bar with live music but kids love the shows.

MellowPinkDeer · 14/05/2025 07:24

Holiday village Paphos would get my vote by unsure of doable in budget ( and I am not a holiday village person!)

QforCucumber · 14/05/2025 07:26

Liberty Fabay in fethiye. Or the liberty signa next door. We’re going back to the Fabay this year absolutely loved every minute of it.

Rainbows2018 · 14/05/2025 08:23

Thanks @QforCucumber but these are well over budget

Ah we’re going October - 4 of us for under 4k but we booked it last summer.

Rainbows2018 · 14/05/2025 09:59

Wow that’s an amazing price for school holidays. I have friends who go here but unfortunately it’s always above our budget. Enjoy

I went to Zafiro Can Picafort when my children were 7 and 5. We went late May and the pools were cold so my younger one struggled but if you're going later in the season it would be less of a shock!
They loved the evening entertainment and the bouncy pillow in the pool, and there is a smaller toddler play area you could use for your little one.
There is one main restaurant and a beach bar/restaurant open until 4 that turns into the a la carte in the evenings but that's it on the food front. We had a great break at the hotel but didn't love the local town. We have found better value for a similar price (and hotel rooms with a better set up for children) in Turkey.

GoldLash · 14/05/2025 12:26

I’ve been to Iberostar club Cala Barca

Our apartment was next to a smaller pool where I loved to hangout and swim as well as the beach cove which is gorgeous
My DC preferred the bigger busy pools where they hung out with the friends they made. They were older than yours

There are so many pools to choose from.
The bigger most popular pool did my head in but it’s perfect with little ones.

They have really decent rooms / apartments which is partly why we chose it in the first place.

The dining room is great too. Big size, lovely staff and I was really happy with the food. There’s a restaurant on the beach you have to book in advance for the Evening but they had delicious seafood and grilled meat.

it’s a great resort actually

Id happily go again and stick to the quieter areas which I prefer do I was happy to have that option. Lots of options there catering to everyone’s needs.

we had a garden terrace apartment

they also have a very handy app you can see what’s going on at what time.

GoldLash · 14/05/2025 12:28

We went in August and it was full of very lovely families. Lots from the UK but also various other countries so a great mix.

mumma24 · 14/05/2025 14:41

My sons just come back from all inclusive with iberostar in Tunisia. Kantaoui bay and loved it

Rainbows2018 · 14/05/2025 15:34

@GoldLash thanks for the detailed info - that’s so helpful and good to hear. We really loved the other Iberostar so I’m sure it would be similar. It’s good to hear the positives. And good to know you went in august too - some people are complaining about it being busy but I think everywhere is in August.

@Tellmeagain any places in Turkey you would recommend?

OP posts:
ILostMyself · 14/05/2025 15:40

Haven’t actually been yet(!) but have just booked Lara Barut in Turkey for October half term after seeing several glowing recommendations on here and great reviews. We’ve paid 6k for 7 nights but that’s for 3 adults and a 15 year old so not sure if less with younger ones. May be able to get 10 nights at similar price.
