Best age to take child to Disney World Orlando

Hi All 😊

Just wanted people's opinions on what best age to take a child to Disney World Orlando?

I'm thinking about 5/6 years old for the Disney Magic - as they will still believe in the magic at that age.

Obviously not for the fast rides 🤣 that will probably require another trip at teenager age 🤣

We took DS when 6. Yes they had fun, but they really don’t remember it so I wish I’d waited until they were older.

We did it at 7 through to 18, our kids and their cousins, we were in our 40s, everyone had a blast. Our once in a lifetime trip became 4 trips. Our kids, at 14 and 17 are no longer interested, but we want to go back when they age out of holidays with us!

Our dds were 4 and 9 this year when we took them and both absolutely loved it and dealt fine with flights and jet lag etc

I have taken mine when they were 2&6, 4&8 and 7 and 11.

All were fab. Yes the younger the were the less they remember obviously but they had a wonderful time, and I will certainly always remember their little faces full of magic ❤️ 2&6 probably my personal favourite because they just thought everything was absolutely magical.

We're about to head back from our trip! DS is 5 and it's honestly so so magical.
I avoided it for a while thinking he was too small and now I'm thinking this is the perfect age - no moaning, not much jet lag, happy to walk around and also easily persuadable to head back nice and early 😂

Shot myself in the foot though as he's already asking when we can come back!

Did DLP at 4, which was perfect and then DWO at 9 - great age to cope with the travel, all the walking and got on most rides, but still young enough for the 'magic'.

I took my 1 and 2 year old, and this year, I'm taking my 4 and 2 year old.

I think it's personal preference and whether it's a once in a lifetime kinda thing.

We took ours at 8/9 when they still qualified as a child for Disney - They loved it and it has sparked a long love affair with Disney parks. We now visit parks annually and are only Shanghai short of fulfilling their Disney bucket list of visiting all the Disney Parks in the world.

There is no point waiting for them to be old enough to "remember". I barely remember my own trips as a teen. It is so worth it for you to see their faces light up x

first visit we did with DT’s was when they were just 10. Was ideal - happy to be up early for getting into the parks, able to walk around all day and could wait in the queues. Also they were old enough to participate in deciding what to do each day - Epcot today, Space Centre tomorrow and the beach the day after etc.

6 or 7 (for your first trip)! By age 7 they usually are tall enough to go on a good chunk of the rides but there’s still magic there. Make sure you book the lunch with the princesses in Cinderella’s castle - it’s wonderful!

Ours were 6 and they still remember it several years later. One of them was just tall enough for the faster rides and the steeper water slides much to the annoyance of the other one.

That is another worry of mine with all the walking 🤣 taking a little one. Glad you had an amazing time with your 10 year old xx
