Heated swimming pools abroad-do they actually exist!!!!!

Everytime I've been abroad the hotels state heated pools, they never are! Went away this year in April and it was so cold 🥶 my little boy came out blue it was ridiculously cold!

Looking for next year and would love it if someone could tell me they've found a genuinely heated pool abroad.

Thanks!

can your little boy swim unaided?

Muchtoomuchtodo · 25/08/2024 20:21

They’re usually only heated at the very start and very end of the season. And even then it can be at the staff’s discretion (as told to me by a hotel in Turkey)

Tui magic life in cala pada has a smaller heated outdoor pool (and a larger unheated main one). We spent most of our time there. It was lovely. I am not sure what months / times it’s heated though. The rest of the resort was nice, food was a bit school canteen ish but there’s lots of good restaurants around outside the resort. (It’s all inclusive but we ended up eating out a lot, still enjoyed ourselves). It’s in Ibiza.

They only get heated to about 27 degrees because of bacteria growth if any warmer

What does that have to do with anything?!

Sunpiercer · 25/08/2024 20:48

Landmar costa los gigantes in Tenerife - used to be a Holiday Village. We went in February and they do alternate but the baby pools especially were warm. Never any issues at all!

We went to a Thompsons hotel in Majorca that had a heated pool. I cant remember the name of it though it was an indoor pool adjacent to the gym.

Hilton Dalaman aqua park pool is heated, it’s like a bath even when the main pools are chilly at the end of season.

Dibblydoodahdah · 25/08/2024 21:05

Hard Rock Tenerife had a lovely heated pool in April when we went a few years ago.

saltycashew · 25/08/2024 21:08

Could it be that the cost of heating them properly has increased so much it's too expensive?

moana1234 · 25/08/2024 21:10

aequora lanzarote suites have heated pools!

That is normal UK Leisure centre pool temperature.

AnyFucker · 25/08/2024 21:42

You need to hire a villa instead

Cinnamonbonbon · 25/08/2024 21:45

We stayed at Bahiazul in Fuerteventura this year and the villas on the complex have heated pools. Canarian laws only allow them to be heated to 26 degrees I believe though.

Bunnycat101 · 25/08/2024 21:45

Ikos heat. Pool was lovely when we went at the end of May and I could feel the heating was on.

hilbil21 · 25/08/2024 21:46

Maxeria Blue Didyma in Turkey is heated

What does that have to do with anything?!

Because it can determine which pool he can swim in.
May only be allowed in children’s pool if he can’t but OP might be meaning adult pools.

tiggergoesbounce · 25/08/2024 22:42

Hiring a villa is a way around this.

user1478639495 · 26/08/2024 13:50

Thank you so much everyone going to look a few of these up now!
So they do actually exist 🤣

My little boy can swim unaided but I also have 2 younger ones. 7,5,1 when we go so would need a baby pool as well as the adult pools, my eldest is a fish, he loves it he's got his under the water more than above it 🤣 but last time he got so cold he literally turned blue, he had to keep coming out to get warmed up then he'd jump straight back in again! Would love it if we can get a pool that's a little warm at least and warm for me to enjoy it too! That last on was ridiculous 🙈

Paradisus in Playa del Carmen has lovely heated pools. Mexico is a bit of a schlep though...

Gastropod · 26/08/2024 19:35

Brycare · 26/08/2024 20:36

Amwaj Rotana hotel along the JBR in Dubai has two nice heated pools (small kids one and the main one).
My two (4 & 7 at the time) loved them.

QueenofLouisiana · 26/08/2024 20:39

Iberostar La Palmerie in Marrakesh has at least one heated pool.
