Hi, we are off to Mauritius in 7 weeks with DD10 and DS7. I need to do my research to see if we need to get any injections, wondered if anyone has been recently and what injections (if any you opted for ) also, do you just go to GP? Thank you!

We go every year. Consider booking your flights and booking somewhere to stay, instead of a package deal. There are plenty of Villas and apartments to rent, and you could save a packet. I recommend the west of the island as it's not half as windy as the east. North west is the best. Mauritius has 21 micro climates and the ones in the south tend to be a lot wetter. You can travel the length of the island in a little over an hour. We have never had a problem using taxis. The local hypermarket will have lots of drivers waiting to take you to your accomodation with your groceries. Just agree a price with them before you get in. We pay around £3 for a three mile journey. Make an offer, and just walk away if they suggest some sky high price. They will soon call you back. The average Mauritian (shop worker/office worker/waitress) earns around £40 equivalent a week, so use that as a guide. We always tip at least £1 to waiters etc. Relatively small to us, but a lot of money to someone on a small salary like Mauritians. Mauritians love children and always make an effort to try and speak in English.
