in Europe. Am looking to go just before Xmas. Found a good deal on Cologne. I quite fancy Vienna but coming up ridiculously expensive. Shock

Bruges is a lovely little city and not all that far away.

outing myself here probably... I'll be in Berlin next month for work and the city has HEAPs I mean HEAPs of Christmas markets. Obviously I haven't been yet, but worth a looksy.

Not Leeds, it has really gone downhill this year, v disappointing.

Berlin markets thread here.

For somewhere with warmer temps, I wonder what Sevilla is like. I was there one yr in December & remember lots of Christmasy things.

vanillavelvet · 29/11/2013 20:24

Nuremberg in Germany. Magical.

delbee · 29/11/2013 20:33

Cologne in Germany is lovelySmile

noramum · 29/11/2013 21:16

Nuernberg is good but go under the week. At the weekend you won't see anything.

I lived 3 years in the next town and avoided Nuernberg at all costs in December

Muenster
Munich
some say Frankfurt/Main
Hamburg
Prague

my friend said Nuremburg was fantastic! Am looking at BA website and Germany is looking good price wise. Just wondering if ds 7 would find it boring.

We went to Cologne 2 years ago. It was amazing. Can still picture us with our gluwein listening to the choir. I can highly recommend it. It was SO cold though. Took me a week to warm up after!

Go to Barcelona! Lovely lights and decorations, markets full of lovely Christmasy things (including the most amazing fresh veg) and some weird traditions (pooing man!).
Better still cold not freezing and and since they celebrate it on the 6th the horrible panic buying hasn't set in.

Copenhagen is lovely at Xmas. Not too big a city, cheap flights and lots of markets. Tivoli garden is open for christmas and is beautiful. It was freezing when went last December and we had a foot of snow overnight!
Beautiful city and friendly people.

I think the best city for Christmas market is paris, they have so much variety for Christmas.
