Thanks Nellie,
Feeling awful today, spent 4 hours in hospital last night after another set of scary palpitations, followed by a panic attack, got home at 3am, no cause found again. So will hopefully feel better later and get back on here. Info is wonderful, do you charge a fee?????? We live in Deal in Kent, I can see France from here on a clear day, its a lovely place, great rock pools and castles etc.

Don't forget Raby Castle, Staindrop.

Killhope Wheel is wonderful and the kids can try their hand at looking for lead. They used to be able to dress up too, not sure if they still can. You can go underground too so take wellies otherwise you have to wear theirs.

Also more lead mines to go down at Nenthead, a bit further up Weardale. Very different but just as good.

And I love Alston - there is a little steam railway there too.

Hi Nellie,
I think the north of England has alot more going for it than down here, I love the feeling of space, it is so over crowded here now. Having said that Deal is lovely, an old English seaside town, beach huts, deck chairs, pier, etc. Yes I do need a holiday, though travelling with triplets, husband and mother will I get one? Where do you live?

Hi,
This is really nice chatting to you, thank you. Well I am on here as I find it helps to take my mind off of things, but as soon as the two boys quieten down I must go to bed, in fact I have taken my first ever sleeping pill. Yes, I feel exhausted, physically and mentally, scared that it will happen as bad again, its a really awful feeling. I will go back to my gp but am expecting the same reply, its stress!

WolsinghamMum · 12/01/2006 23:13

...not to mention Cafe Poco for excellent Spanish Tapas, 2 cafes and 4 pubs. Not a bad place really!

tortoiseshell · 12/01/2006 23:15

Hamsterley Forest is nice as well!

triplets · 13/01/2006 09:10

Goodmorning everyone,
Do you live in Wolsingham then Wolsingham mum? Cafe Poco sounds good, we love tapas. Nellie in a nutshell my story is, we lost our then only child Matthew in June 1994, he was almost 15 and collapsed and died instantly in our garden, no medical explanation was ever found. After two years of living hell we decided to try ivf, after 2 failed attempts we tried again in London with Sir Robert Winstons team using donated eggs, bingo, two boys and a girl! I was almost 46 and Harry was 57, we never ever thought our life would be like this when we married in 1978, seems all a very long time ago. So thats me.

Yep, sure do, very close to Whitfield House, maybe we could meet up. My boys are 16 and 20 so won't be much company for the triplets, on the other hand sounds like us parents are roughly the same age!!

Durham City is great, I love it. In Newcastle, the Science Museum and the Centre for Life are worth a visit, also the Baltic art gallery and the Millenium Bridge.

Hi Triplets, we live about 4 - 5 miles away from Spennymoor, I think Nellie has covered all the places I can think of but I can't recommend Whitworth Hall enough! We take our DS's regularly and DS1 (aged almost 5) loves feeding the deer, ducks and swans. It's only a few miles from Spennymoor too. I hope you all have a lovely time

triplets · 14/01/2006 21:28

Hi Wolsingham mum,
I bet you are alot younger than me, us! It would be nice to meet you,I should think we will stand out like a sore thumb in Wolsingham, easily spotted! Be nice to rendezvous at the pub?

Hi triplets,
Glad you would like to meet up but hope you didn't feel cornered!! After I posted the last message I realised it would he hard to say no when I know when, where, and it is true that the triplets may be a bit of a give-away!! I just thought it would be nice to put a face to a nickname. I have only just discovered mumsnet but am addicted already. Actually I doubt if you will be very conspicuous, Wolsingham is quite a large village and it isn't so unusual to see parents with 3 children in tow, not as unusual as 3 babies.
BTW we are 52. A rendezvous in the pub sounds like a good idea to me.

Fine by me
What are the dates of your hols, triplets?

WolsinghamMum · 16/01/2006 15:30

Whereabouts are you nellie? Which side of Durham?

And how was Derbyshire? I am originally from Sheffield, on the Peak District side, and so know it well though haven't been there for years. We used to take the boys to Chatsworth for the adventure playground, though it bacame a bit tame towards the end when health and safety must have kicked in.

Ha, that's my route into Durham. Any excuse to go into Durham, we used to live there and I love it.

I have often wondered if there were any MNers nearby. Maybe I am the only MNer in the village?

triplets · 16/01/2006 18:05

Hi to you both,
I would love to meet up, escape for a few hours! Ok, we arrive in Wolsingham on Sat 1st April, there for one week, thats the first week of our Easter Hols, really looking forward to it, and to see my brother and niece, they live in Spennymoor, as I think I said earlier. My brother married a local girl and moved up there and I really miss him. Ellie will be 3 in March and I have only seen her a few times, love her to bits. Just say when and where!

triplets · 16/01/2006 18:07

Me again, looking back I didn`t mention my brother it was on another thread. Is the swimming pool open btw?
