Fennel · 20/09/2005 11:54

I never wanted to go to Poland but have just been and it was fantastic! now i would happily live there.

gingerbear · 20/09/2005 11:54

mum2girls, I take it you have been then?
Crap for kids though??

gingerbear · 20/09/2005 11:55

But the food in Poland was truely awful when I went.

aloha · 20/09/2005 11:55

Definitely any country where a burkah is compulsory.

Caligula · 20/09/2005 11:55

The Ukraine

Toothache · 20/09/2005 11:55

Benidorm

sansouci · 20/09/2005 11:55

agreed, aloha.

Fennel · 20/09/2005 11:56

yes gingerbear, the food was awful - pancakes, dumplings, fritters, ugh. but the rest of it was good. surprisingly beautiful and peaceful.

dinosaur · 20/09/2005 11:56

handlemecarefully - he enjoyed his time there - he was working pretty hard for most of it - met a lot of nice and interesting people

Got very tired of eating fat-tailed sheep stew, though.

Mum2girls · 20/09/2005 11:56

Gingerbear......ah yes, many moons ago pre-binlids.

Fennel · 20/09/2005 11:58

gingerbear have you been to Bulgaria? i am going in a few weeks it's supposed to be quite nice. at least the wine should be good.

Enid · 20/09/2005 12:06

don't you even feel a tiny bit fascinated though aloha?

RTKangaMummy · 20/09/2005 12:07

Maldives -- deffo brill and with DS swimming snorkeling

Do not want to go to France or Paris

dinosaur · 20/09/2005 12:07

Burkah not compulsory in Afghanistan. Our kid's DP wore a scarf round her hair, that's all. She was treated with great respect everywhere she went, and addressed by her professional qualification : "Engineer ......".

expatinscotland · 20/09/2005 12:09

Chechnya.

Russia, either.

gingerbear · 20/09/2005 12:10

never been to Bulgaria, but it is always highly thought of by those I know who have been. I am sure it is beautiful, but again, if the food isn't right.

helsy · 20/09/2005 12:18

USA. Never. No thank you.
By the way....."I took the hand of a preacher man and we (pause/gasp) made love in the sun"

I'm always going to me, though. I've got a season ticket.

aloha · 20/09/2005 12:27

Nah, would hate to go to a country full of women in black shrouds, no alcohol...horrible.
Why on earth go there when you could go to, say, Rome? Or stay at home.
