No idea if there is a thread, I haven’t seen one.. but my dd is off to Bath in September to study psychology and very excited. She was nervous that she may not have made the grades so has been super happy since Thursday. What is your child studying? There are a few others with kids off to Bath on the year 13 threads. They may see this and join…

My daughter is going to Bath to study Biochemistry - it was her first choice Uni and she is so excited. We are now waiting to see what accommodation she will be offered.

ChloeCannotCanCan · 17/08/2026 13:33

I’ve already spent a small fortune at IKEA 🤣

Gosh I haven’t even started to think about buying anything. Hope my dd will be on it and have a list of things she will need. All very exciting for her but bittersweet for me!

KierkegaardsUnderpants · 17/08/2026 16:53

My DS is doing Maths. Bath was first choice. Just waiting for accommodation confirmation then we’ll get his stuff together. Had hotel booked (cancellable 😁) for three months.

My daughter is off to Bath to study psychology. She was so delighted on Thursday to get her place. We’ve been to Dunelm and got lots of bits and pieces and just waiting now to hear which halls she gets given.

DblEspresso · 18/08/2026 01:24

My son got into Bath Chemistry. Was his insurance so needs to apply for accomodation now. Based on last year's feedback, it might be hard to get a campus accomodation now.

Rebootrequired · 18/08/2026 23:16

Has anyone had their Bath accommodation offer yet? Son got in through clearing so only able to submit the application today. Only one option available on campus (other than shared room).

ChloeCannotCanCan · 18/08/2026 23:18

I think my DD, who had Bath as her first choice, said accommodation offers were coming out on the 26th…

Rebootrequired · 18/08/2026 23:22

Seems the same day for the later applicants but preference has been given to firm offer holders (which he would have been had they not rejected him initially!)

Firm offer holders find out on 26 August and other groups after that I think.
Which is the option left on campus incidentally?

KierkegaardsUnderpants · 19/08/2026 08:56

Yy, 26th. DS put a wide range on, all east side though so he’s near the drum kit at the Music Society 😁. He will probably end up at Eastwood Terrace, but I quite liked that when we saw it; not as flash as Solsbury/Marlborough, but cheaper!

Westwood was the only one available on campus yesterday. From my understanding, it is all very random.

pistachioicecream · 19/08/2026 10:43

Just to pre-warn everyone - I do think the accommodation allocation is pretty random.

My DD was a first year at Bath last year. It had been her firm university on UCAS. She'd submitted her 7 accommodation choices well before the deadline.

When the allocations came out she didn't get any of her 7 preferred options and got allocated to somewhere she hadn't put on her form at all. In fact she got offered a place in the accommodation she had said she really didn't want. Quote the night before they came out...... "I'll be fine wherever as long as its not x" - It was x.

But despite being initially a bit upset, it was all totally fine. She had a brilliant year and has made some fantastic friends in her flat who she is living with this year. So in our experience it's best not to get invested in any particular accommodation. The accommodation itself is far less important than the people you meet.

Congratulations to all your young people, I hope they love Bath as much as DD does.

Same here. I guess those who applied with firm offer would have a pick of all options. For clearing ones, city options seem more likely. City is not very far but it does mean that students need to take a bus. Heard that cycling up the hill is pretty hard.

TreesOfGreen99 · 19/08/2026 16:40

Hi, my work is based at the university campus (but I don’t work for the university).
Lots of students use the electric e-scooters to get up the hill from the centre to the campus.
You do also see both cyclists and some brave walkers, but it’s not for the faint-hearted!

Ah so jealous of you all. DD graduated last year and says it was the best years of her life (so far!). I loved visiting her there it is such a wonderful place to be. I wish all your DC lots of amazing times ahead.

That is so good to know. I’m pretty sure my dd is going to love it, she’s very ready to leave, and she is the most lovely, sociable, friendly person and she should make some lovely friends and have a great time studying a subject she’s passionate about… however I’m aware that a lot depends on who she ends up living with and experiences in those first weeks and months. So keeping everything crossed that she will love it and have a fab time! She’s also been totally set on Bath since we saw it in year 11 so I feel that the place has a lot to live up to… let’s hope it gives her all she hopes it will!

Whorulestheroost1 · 24/08/2026 07:55

DD ended up being allocated Westwood which suited her well as it consisted of long corridors of around 30 of them. She made friends straight away and lived with them the following years. The smaller houses can be trickier if you don't find your people straight away. Westwood wasn't glam at all but deffo worked out well for her.

SilverBlue4 · 24/08/2026 08:15

My son is going too, aerospace engineering. It was his firm, and applied for accommodation with some additional requirements but still feeling nervous about finding out. Just want it sorted now, roll on Wednesday afternoon 🙂

Atreyu · 24/08/2026 08:17

My DD is hoping for an ensuite but I’m just keeping everything crossed she ends up somewhere on campus. And mainly that she finds some nice friends wherever she gets allocated. 🤞🏻

SilverBlue4 · 26/08/2026 10:49

Accomodation offers are starting to arrive for those who applied by July 1st 🙂

KierkegaardsUnderpants · 26/08/2026 12:43

My DS has Brandon Court. Move in on 18th.
