Is there a thread for this year’s applicants - I can’t seem to find with a search. Thanks for signposting 🙏

So I’ve been playing it cool, but it turns out that DS had forgotten that results were due out today! He’s completely not bothered by the delay in them being released!

Newlease · 14/11/2025 08:08

ESAT had it mentioned as 3pm on their page, last time I looked.
not sure of TMUA. I have been reading Reddit since 6am 🥲 DD is stressed I know but she is not even trying to check her email. @Muchtoomuchtodo they all find their own way of coping with it, right?
Reddit also has ppl discussing the dev tools results, I can’t believe it worked like that, I am glad we didn’t know/check.

ArchitectureMum · 14/11/2025 14:04

We have had bad news this week and so DD's Cambridge journey has ended already. It really does sting after all that DD has put in to getting to this point and all the encouragement to apply based on GCSE grades and A level predictions. These things happen though and she will not be the only one not interviewed. She is still an amazing and talented young lady with lots of other options and a great career ahead of her and we are so proud of her effort and stoicism.

Good luck to those of you waiting for test results today and for interview invitations over the next few weeks. How annoying to have the time pushed back for the exam results - not long to wait now.

pinkdelight · 14/11/2025 14:15

So sorry to hear that @ArchitectureMum, really sucks but will happen to lots and lots of brilliant students who will go on to do great things and all this will be a blurry mad memory. You're so right to be proud of how she's handling it. Onwards and upwards...

Greenleave · 14/11/2025 14:17

My daughter will be sitting TMUA in Jan so wasnt aware of the issues. Its such a shamble indeed.

@ArchitectureMum indeed, there are alot of factors playing roles, best of luck to your DD in her other Univ application. My DD is also applying US as a back-up.

Llangewydd57 · 14/11/2025 15:11

Sorry to hear that @ArchitectureMum .
as others have said, many more won’t get an interview or will be unsuccessful after their interview. I think it’s amazing that our DCs put themselves forward to even apply, writing essays, sitting extra exams and putting together portfolios.
Lots of great courses at other great universities.

Llangewydd57 · 14/11/2025 15:13

TMUA results are out. My DC just messaged to say the site has crashed 🙄

Thank you for posting! I have no messages from DD and just tried to call her. I don’t have credentials so will have to wait until she decides to let me know! 😀

Shodan · 14/11/2025 15:23

I burst through the front door at 3.10 and oh-so-casually asked if there was any news (waiting for ESAT results here) and ds2 said the site had crashed. He's going to try again in ten minutes or so. He seems super chilled about it all, unlike me 😆

Muchtoomuchtodo · 14/11/2025 15:37

Sorry to hear your dd’s news @ArchitectureMum . With such a positive outlook and successful school career so far I have no doubt that she will have a great experience whichever university place she decides to accept once all the offers are in.

DS is at an after school club where he won’t have access to his phone so I have no idea when he’ll see his result and (hopefully) let me know.

Does anyone know if there’s much correlation between TMUA scores and MAT results?

Shodan · 14/11/2025 15:50

Ds 2 has his ESAT results. He seems ok about them- they're solidly average, marginally better than his friends, so now we just wait and see if he gets an interview.

pinkdelight · 14/11/2025 15:59

Similar situation here for my DS @Shodan but with TMUA - above the median but no fireworks. Glad we held off on a couple of application spots cos not worth trying Imperial but Warwick still a possibility. Should get a Cambridge interview fingers crossed, but he'd have to ace it to get an offer, which feels a longshot. Still, he's got one offer from a place he likes and we can use the last slot for a safety option. Eeesh, so much stressful strategising!

Llangewydd57 · 14/11/2025 16:29

Well done to all for their results today.
DC is very pleased with their result and a little surprised. Can now pop on more Uni’s to fill up their UCAS applications.

WhisperingAngelisnotbad · 14/11/2025 16:34

DS in top 20 - 25% for TMUA, so not stellar but not too bad, as he didn’t really revise for it because we weren’t sure whether the computer system would let him sit it. This was in aid of a Warwick application, so it’s probably ok.

He is much more on tenterhooks about the MAT.

girlwhowearsglasses · 14/11/2025 16:44

Mine won’t tell me what he got - frustrated!

Shodan · 14/11/2025 17:00

@pinkdelight Ds2 is very relaxed about it all I have to say, but he's also been very even-handed in his preferences for unis- Cambridge isn't the be all and end all for him so I think he'd be just as happy at another uni. I just want him to complete his ucas form now!

Same - I'm so impressed with his calm and clear-eyed approach. Likewise he feels that if Cambridge isn't meant to be, he'll be happier wherever works out to be the right place. May we all have some of their chill factor!

Llangewydd57 · 14/11/2025 17:24

My DC is the same. Would love Oxford but knows it’s super competitive and all applying are super clever with similar predicted grades.

bettyjane · 14/11/2025 19:09

DD is happy with her TMUA. Not high enough to be confident of an Imperial offer based on last years TMUA scores to Imperial offers, but high enough to give it a shot.
She doesn’t feel the MAT went as well so doesn’t think she’ll get an Oxford interview.
She’s filled out all 5 spots on her UCAS now anyway so will just have to wait and see 🤞

Newlease · 14/11/2025 20:17

Well done to all kids, they did their best, on to next step now!
DD sits just above average too for ESAT. Anyone heard from interviews, yet? Aught her staring at the results map, but looks like so many of us are having similar results.
We don’t know anyone’s else’s results yet from school, but DD thinks Imperial would not invite for interview. I don’t know much about historical data, so no idea!! Just taking hinge from here!! should have waited until submitting, but her school was not happy to leave one out. I am not sure it’s already a write off. Does anyone know when do we hear from Imperial?

Llangewydd57 · 14/11/2025 20:35

From past experience with other DC Imperial are very late with offers. I think they start offering end Feb/March time. This was for Maths. My DC is putting imperial down now that the TMUA results are out along with Warwick, UCL and not sure about the fifth one. Of course we are still waiting to see if Oxford call for an interview, so 🤞.

Edited

My daughter has also put Imperial, Oxford and UCL for maths. She hasn’t applied to Warwick because she would prefer to be in a city. Good luck to your DC :)

Muchtoomuchtodo · 14/11/2025 23:47

DS has said that his TMUA result is ‘very average’. So I guess around the 4 -4.5 range.

He’s happy with the 2 offers that he’s got so far, an Oxford interview would be amazing but we’ll just have to wait and see now.

They’re all doing great by the sounds of it, juggling so many different things

What are her other two choices?
My DC is thinking Bristol or Durham.

Bristol and Durham! She also liked Manchester.
