"3 prestigious universities about to go bust" - on Radio 5 live this morning..

...heard a chap who was contributing as part of Nicky's slot (still on) say that three unis are about to go bust, not to mention the many others who are running at a deficit.

Nicky asked if he would name them but he refused.

Any ideas??

He certainly couldn't afford accommodation in another place and pay half the bills on the flat they have now.

My point was why would they move? If the uni closed it the site would become another unis. There's be no expectation of relocating.

Good. HE is a shitshow. Can’t wait to leave or retire. The desperation for bums in seats, the ridiculous metrics staff have to work to, the micromanagement and scrutiny is exhausting.

The pressure to pass students is huge. If a student fails, the spotlight is on the tutor. What didn’t you do? And the customer is always right!. Fed up of bending backwards for students who just do the bare minimum. They pay so feel they can do what the like. Been in HEI for 20 years, it lost its soul ages ago.
