Gingercatlover · 16/08/2024 12:26

Anyone else?

Waiting a review of politics A level paper .

School requested scripts yesterday and think he could have done much better.

But it's a waiting game now, 15 working days.

Needed 3 X A for first uni choice and got A, A and B, mock score was A*

There is at least one other thread on this in this forum, and others in other bits of MN. They'll have the information there already.

If you did a priority review (which are for uni dependent grades) it won't take 15 days.

Sometimes they are back by Monday.

I'm am EO. Currently processing these for my school.

Gingercatlover · 16/08/2024 14:09

@Droolylabradors
That would be fab, yes school requested priority.

Fyi I put through a standard review this morning and had it returned two hrs later!

Gingercatlover · 16/08/2024 14:13

@Droolylabradors examining board is AQA. That gives us hope that this torture isn't going to go on too long 👍🏻

Brilliant

My DS is also having a paper reviewed

Thank you for replying instead of trying to cut the post dead like PP which was not helpful in the slightest.

There is about every topic so what

OP can post a question if she likes

YellowAsteroid · 17/08/2024 05:19

There is more & more useful information on the first thread posted on this topic.

What's so wrong about suggesting that all the useful helpful information go in one thread, so it's easy for someone to find it if they need it?

Gingercatlover · 17/08/2024 09:14

@LightFull it's so stressful, I think my Son just thinks he's going to get the better grade and it will be fine, doesn't know what to do if he doesn't.

Well add a link then like normal posters

ClipTap · 18/08/2024 04:19

@Gingercatlover yes my DS can't understand why he didn't get the grade he should have so really wants the paper to see where he went wrong or if they didn't mark it correctly

He has missed going to his firm offer because of it

His insurance is absolutely fine and an excellent uni for his subject

I'm delighted he's going to his insurance because I think the uni itself will suit him better for that all round uni experience and his money will go much further

ClipTap · 22/08/2024 11:49

DS got his remark back today and it stayed exactly the same

SingingGoldfinch · 22/08/2024 12:23

What subject was that ClipTap - and what exam board? We're waiting on a priority review of dd's English Lit paper which was AQA.

ClipTap · 22/08/2024 12:56

Ed excel and a science subject

Dummydaydream · 22/08/2024 13:44

DS got an extra 5 marks added to AQA Maths. Now has an A star. He got a mail from his college this morning.

That's brilliant

Investinmyself · 22/08/2024 15:06

Mines had one politics paper remarked (they suggested one paper at a time) but it’s Edexcel. Got a B, couple of marks off A when usually A or A star. Looking at some essays marking was very harsh but shall see. Her firm has taken her so it’s just for own peace of mind.

Excellent

SingingGoldfinch · 22/08/2024 15:23

Just had dd's AQA English Lit review back. They found an additional 12 marks and she's gone from a C to a B! It's quite unnerving that the first mark was so far off - it makes you wonder how reliable any of them are when it comes to essay based subjects - but, dd is delighted and so are we! It's still below what she was predicted but she's accepted a place at her insurance and is feeling happy about it so all is good.

Gingercatlover · 22/08/2024 20:56

We have had the review mark back and 11 extra marks were added taking his grade to an A and acceptance in to his first choice uni.

Really pleased, but it's still particularly galling that he was robbed of this result on the actual day.

Gingercatlover · 22/08/2024 20:57

@SingingGoldfinch Really good result.

@Investinmyself The marking of the papers are shocking.

Son's school prepared a report on the scripts and believe they were still incredibly tight with the remark.

These kids worked so hard to be robbed of their rightful grades, a week ago I never even knew you could appeal results tbh. Certainly an eye opener.

Great outcomes with the remarks

Not so much for my DS though sadly

I'm secretly delighted he's going to his insurance rather than his firm though
