2024 university offers coming in?

Now that the UCAS deadline has passed, have offers started coming out quicker? Lots of DS friends are still waiting to hear from their potential first choices. We are waiting for Edinburgh and St Andrews.
Any recent offers? Or anyone waiting for the outcome of particular applications?

Had all offers in except Southampton - annoyingly added last minute a day before cutoff a few weeks ago. If gets an offer likely to be insurance hit would like to go to offer holder day as didn’t go to Open Day, but need to know and visit by end March so don’t miss accommodation at firm…..

Anyone heard from Southampton for Geography recently? Wondering how long a wait we are in for.

Waiting for Durham and Edin…got KCL and Bristol

Midlifecryses · 16/02/2024 19:34

Still waiting for Uni of Nottingham. The other 4 came in within a week of application going in. Im sure Ive seen posts saying offers received already from Nottingham so a bit worried as that was joint favourite

Offers from University of Creative Arts (Epsom campus) and Anglia Ruskin, portfolio requests from Bournemouth Arts and London College of Fashion (waves @Tornado70 ), only waiting for Heriot Watt - thinking maybe Scottish unis take longer?

owlsinthedaylight · 17/02/2024 00:09

Waiting for St Andrews and Edinburgh.

TBH he doesn’t quite have the grades for either of them, and they would be a long shot even if he did.

I am torn between wishing they would just hurry up with a rejection, and thinking maybe no “news is good news” because there is always a chance.

DD got Durham last night for nat sciences.
Dc2 didn't get her Lse offer till late April and then withdrew from Edinburgh who still hadn't replied...

WombatChocolate · 17/02/2024 08:53

Just to say, there’s another long running thread about this - it’s been running since Oct and is on Thread 2. It’s called Uni offers coming in 24.

GoingDownLikeBHS · 17/02/2024 11:14

Ah thank I'll have a look there too @WombatChocolate

@CurlyhairedAssassin I saw on Reddit that someone was rejected from Bath CS today and he had 3 A stars and an A in FM predicted. That’s much more than my son has applied with so we are expecting a rejection email imminently tbh. He couldn’t do FM as there was a timetable clash but I think he may have to take a gap year and do it if he really wants to go to somewhere like Bath.

His offer is for York which he did like but not as much as Bath.

yes, I've seen similar stories online too. I feel that many of those rejected with high grades like that (assuming they are in STEM subjects and it's not going to be a total switch from Arts) attend private schools, and so don't fit the quota requirements at certain unis. But that's a whole other thread!

Applied at deadline (creative courses). All five portfolio requests received within a week or two. Now all submitted, so just a waiting game. Has good A level grades from last year, so hopefully any offers will be unconditional ones.

Hi, what are the quotas you refer to?

JacketPotatoQueen · 18/02/2024 17:50

Waiting for Durham, York and Warwick here ….

mamaduckbone · 19/02/2024 17:57

Also waiting for Bath and Leeds. Offers in from Bristol and Sheffield and a rejection from Kings (which he didn't want anyway but kind of wanted to get the offer to prove he could)
The longer time passes the more ds is convincing himself that he won't get Bath, and it's hard not to think that with some of the stories floating around.

WeRock · 19/02/2024 18:57

Waiting for Biosciences at Exeter, all others in.

Innisfree · 19/02/2024 20:37

DS has just received an offer from Glasgow for Classical Civilisation. Has Newcastle and Exeter already. Possibly will insure Glasgow. Still waiting for St A and Durham.

Cremebrulee45 · 19/02/2024 20:42

Still waiting for Edinburgh and LSE (applied October). Painful :-(

OurspoonscamefromWoolworths · 21/02/2024 10:03

DD just got offer from Birmingham. Still waiting on Newcastle and Bath. Hope everyone receives good news soon.

JacketPotatoQueen · 21/02/2024 11:30

Just heard from Durham at this end, two more to go now. This is all v stressful isn’t it!

Revengeofthepangolins · 21/02/2024 13:11

Wish Warwick English would pull their fingers out. Have lost track as to whether any on here have had such offers

Soccermumamir · 21/02/2024 17:05

My ds is waiting on one....he's first choice 🤦‍♀️

TooOldForThisNonsense · 27/02/2024 15:17

My son still waiting for Gla and Edi, not fussed as he has unconditional for his preferred but he kind of wants to see what they’ll offer (if at all) given he has 5 As at higher and all As predicted this year as well.

REDRUMRUN · 06/04/2024 22:00

Still waiting on Edinburgh but accommodation at other offers is going quickly. Can’t book any until Edinburgh responds unless DD withdraws Edinburgh application. Very frustrating.

Comefromaway · 08/04/2024 12:33

Well LJMU accommodation portal this morning was stressful! Dd was at work so gave me her log in. I was in the queue for 40 mins then entered the site and it crashed. I had to get back in the queue where I sat for two hours. Meanwhile dd had gone on her break at work and got into the queue. It said a 30 min wait but it was well over an hour. Luckily her boss was very sympathetic and allowed her to have her phone which isn't usually allowed.
