2024 university offers coming in?

Now that the UCAS deadline has passed, have offers started coming out quicker? Lots of DS friends are still waiting to hear from their potential first choices. We are waiting for Edinburgh and St Andrews.
Any recent offers? Or anyone waiting for the outcome of particular applications?

Still waiting on Bath and Exeter here, making my child a bit nervous thinking no news is bad news but I don't think that's the case.

tennissquare · 16/02/2024 13:12

Last year my dd got her psychology offer from Bath in the last week of April. She then missed her grades on results day and went to her insurance (which has turned out to be great). It's a very long process!!

legobrickseverywhere · 16/02/2024 13:24

I don’t think no news is bad news, but neither is no news good news! It seems to take such a long time. Waiting until April or even May when some have applied back in Sept/Oct does seem excessive. But I get there is a process to go through. I just wish they’d get on with it. Particularly if it’s a no!

Couldn’t agree more. Waiting for a Durham History/Classics offer - thankfully I am more concerned and impatient than my son.

Zimunya · 16/02/2024 13:36

Waiting for Leeds........

Tornado70 · 16/02/2024 13:37

Waiting for London College of Fashion, but has got great offer for Arts University Bournemouth.

MerchSwyddEfrog · 16/02/2024 14:38

Waiting for Durham and UCL for Natural sciences.

MirandaWest · 16/02/2024 14:40

DD waiting for Edinburgh. Has heard from Durham.

Comefromaway · 16/02/2024 14:40

My daughter has offers for everywhere she applied but she is a mature student with grades in hand.

legobrickseverywhere · 16/02/2024 14:49

Lots still waiting for a few then. I was hoping that after the deadline, offers would trickle through to people, but seems more that a lot are still waiting. Congrats to those who have all responses now!

Frustrating. But it will happen! Just a waiting game.

Still waiting on 3 out of 5!
2 from October, 1 from late Jan.

PumpkinKnitter · 16/02/2024 15:02

Still waiting for Edinburgh. DD had an email from them saying they were aiming to get offers out in March, but it could be May! Edinburgh and St. Andrews are notorious for being slow.

@Jaxx DS is waiting for classics too. He has offers from Exeter and Newcastle and waiting for St Andrews, Durham and Glasgow. Like you, I’m much much more anxious about the wait than my son is!

ShouldIbeEmbarrassed · 16/02/2024 15:06

My son has offers for everywhere he applied for, only heard back from the last one yesterday

JediKnightingale · 16/02/2024 15:22

Only 1/5 here for Computer Science. Waiting on Bath, Durham, Southampton and St Andrews.

mondaytosunday · 16/02/2024 15:31

Grades in hand for DD has offers from Durham and Glasgow waiting on Bath and LSE.

Hapagirl48 · 16/02/2024 15:43

Waiting on Edinburgh here too. If it’s a no, I wish it was quick to put us out of our misery. UCAS in mid December.

BlondeAmbition21 · 16/02/2024 15:59

My DC is (just about) coping with the long wait but the spammy UCAS emails are driving her crazy- ‘tell us your story - why do you want to go to uni/what made you pick your subject/course/that tattoo’, ‘what to do if you don’t get the grades you need’ ‘stress busting hacks for revision’ , ‘buy this crap and change your life’ . I feel her pain.

BiancaBlank · 16/02/2024 16:26

DD3 just waiting for Edinburgh now - though they helpfully email her from time to time to notify her of open days!

Poblano · 16/02/2024 16:28

DD has had offers from Exeter and York, and a rejection from LSE. Waiting for Bath and Warwick.

Ds is in a similar boat. Had offers from Sheffield and York. A rejection from Bristol (no surprise, DS put that down as an after thought without even realising he needed an A star in Maths as part of their offer whereas his A star is in Physics) He's not bothered about Bristol and I dont think it was for him anyway. I knew it was a wasted choice (he knew so much better than me, though. 😂) I wish he'd have put Southampton instead of Bristol, that would have been slightly more likely to get him an offer.

I'm expecting rejections from Durham and Bath to be honest. He only just meets the grade requirements and I know plenty of applicants will have more than that. On ultra competitive courses at unis like that unless you're contextual I don't think the minimum grade requirements mean much.

We'll see, though. I wish he'd turn on his bloody notifications on his UCAS. He only found out he'd had a Bristol rejection when I asked him to show me what the dashboard looked like yesterday. Hmm

JediKnightingale · 16/02/2024 17:00

@CurlyhairedAssassin I saw on Reddit that someone was rejected from Bath CS today and he had 3 A stars and an A in FM predicted. That’s much more than my son has applied with so we are expecting a rejection email imminently tbh. He couldn’t do FM as there was a timetable clash but I think he may have to take a gap year and do it if he really wants to go to somewhere like Bath.

His offer is for York which he did like but not as much as Bath.

OurspoonscamefromWoolworths · 16/02/2024 17:53

Waiting for Bath, Newcastle and Birmingham. Got Durham and Essex.
