Anyone waiting for a Durham offer?

DS has applied for a STEM at Durham. Heard nothing back yet. So thought I’d start a thread so we can share news of offers coming though?
Anyone have any experience as to when offers for STEM are normally made?. The thought of waiting until April seems too much!

@WombatChocolate (or anyone with a history or classics offer) if you are at the offer day today can you let me know how busy the subject talks are? I am hoping they are quiet as most offers are not out - but would like to know sooner rather than later if I am kidding myself.

Did anyone go to the offer holder's day yesterday? How was it?

Yes, we went yesterday. Colleges opened from 9.30am for talks and tours, although you couldn't see any bedrooms as it was term time. It was busy and had a happy vibe with current students milling around everywhere. We visited two colleges in the Bailey and two near the STEM campus. Two of the colleges we visited had 20 minute presentations on the college ethos and culture, scholarships, room type and allocation, college societies and events, sports teams etc. There were plenty of students on hand to take you on a tour of the college and all very happy to answer any question you had. All four colleges were very different, some had quaint gardens, some expanse of lawn, one had a fabulous gym, another a theatre, also indoor sports facilities and of course we had a good look at all of the college bars.
My DD went to the subject talks in the afternoon - she said there were about 60 or so (STEM subject). She said they were very useful and the whole day just confirmed she will insure Durham, she absolutely loved it. As did I.

Pleased your dd had a good time @SeaofTranquility my dd said it was busy - she’d forgotten that it was yesterday and walked into main college and wondered why there were all these people there with their mums 😂 - she said it was funny to think that was her a year ago - I asked her today if she was pleased she chose Durham and she said “I am so happy, I love it so much”. I hope all this years cohort end up at a uni which makes them as happy 😊

Have all the offers been issued now? Ds still hasn't heard.

@JobsLot definitely not! Offers will keep rolling out for a few months yet - i imagine more have not heard than have heard at this point

@JobsLot don’t worry you are not alone, At least this year they are running an offers holders day in April, the previous year the last one was in March and they were still making offers in May!

DD just received an offer for English lit. Phew. Now to get booked on an offer holder day!

Glad to hear about the offers. Quite what determines who gets their offer and when seems pretty random. Hope those still waiting hear soon.

Wouldn’t we just love someone from the admissions dept to come on this thread and spill the beans about what they are doing and where they are up to!

DD is still waiting for an offer for Liberal Arts (has offers from Birmingham, Exeter & Nottingham) Durham was her 1st choice but Birmingham a close 2nd.

Thanks everyone. Just a huge relief that the wait is over and she can start deciding on her firm and insurance.

DS just got an offer for natural sciences. He's really pleased. It's been a long wait!

Does anyone know when the remaining offer holder dates are or are they specific by subject? Assuming she will get an email in the next few days but just trying to work out if she will need to take a day off work or not if it’s a weekend.
