He’s home and I’m already tripping up his shoes in the hallway! I have liked not having to moan at him to put them away for 10 weeks!

DD has so much to carry home that I might need to go and collect her.

Bristol ends so late. I think my twins now say they will come home on 21st Dec

DH and DS had a boys night in Durham last night. DS was very appreciative of free meal and plenty of beer!

They're travelling back today with the car fully loaded and should be back this afternoon.

DS got his first formative essay back and was really happy to get a 2:1 so a good end to a very happy first term.

Off to the airport early tomorrow for DS2, and then again next week for DS1. Can't believe how excited I am. DH said he doesn't need any presents apart from those 2 home

Grrr! Flipping Trans Pennine Express have withdrawn some trains tomorrow, including the one DD was getting. Her ticket is non refundable as well.

Whatagoodidea · 14/12/2019 17:09

How can a ticket be non-refundable if they withdraw the train? Must be worth a phone call

Report
Ginfordinner · 14/12/2019 17:34

I made the call, and they will refund the ticket. I am going to collect her now. Hopefully the A1 won't be busy at 8 am tomorrow.

My DS is home, about to put the third load on washing on Hmm , usual pile of clothes and shoes dropped in the hall and wet towel on the landing .... first thing he did was jump in the bath. He really misses having a bath Grin.

My boy's back too - 5kg heavier from eating well and using the college gym. Lovely having him home!

I have bought a welcome home bath bomb so that DD can have a long soak in the bath.

DS just said he won't be bringing washing home... I pointed out he needed clothes to wear whilst here...

Oh yeah, he said..

Mine will want a bath, too. Our bath is awful. Only ever goes luke warm so hasn't been used since he left. He seems to like a luke warm bath.

It's great to see that you all are so excited and glad. I wish you all the best of times!

DD is in her room doing a piece of homework to be submitted on the 15th not later than 23:55. She's just been out to buy chocolate.

@Ginfordinner, DSs first train was cancelled so they hopped on another so as not to miss the connection and the guard fined them £15Angry DS is going to claim it back

Ginfordinner · 14/12/2019 19:51

DD was going to struggle to carry everything as she has extra Christmas presents to bring back, plus the two giant elves that she won Grin

Getting back here would have been difficult without buying a different ticket as all the Trans Pennine trains now don't stop at Huddersfield Angry

I’m sure mine will be happy to soak in the bath and curl up with her pets ( not at the same time obvs )

I think our DS is struggling a bit this last couple of weeks. It's a 2 mile walk to his hospital then 12.5 hour shifts.
He is doing well over 20k steps per day.
The ward he is on has no microwave or fridge for staff use so he is running out of ideas for meals.
To top it all most of the other students have gone home and the freezer in his flat has broken.
He isnt a moaner but just wants to come home and see his home friends/brother and his gran who is very poorly. Guess he wouldnt mind a bath and free food as well.
