Mixed flats in uni accomodation

DS is going to Uni in Sepember and has sorted out his accomodation in student halls himself.
There are 2 men/boys and 1 woman/ girl sharing is this usual?He cant see a problem and if thats how it is then great.
I wonder if the parents of the girl see it that way.
They are all first years and have never met in real life but have connected on facebook.
A bit of reassurance would be appreciated

Absolutely normal.

But it's tricky as the mother of a son, I know. I've had an ongoing conversation with my DS about understanding consent. Sometimes it's by the by, as we're discussing something in the news, sometimes I"ve had to pull him up on a comment or something.

So as LRD says, you probably have to start that conversation (if you haven't already) as it's a powerful but problematic rape myth that rapes are perpetrated by the stranger in a dark alley.
