Following on from a thread in chat I thought I would start this so that we can hold each others' hands through the UCAS process with all its challenges.

Who's with me?

Have any of you checked track for yourself?

oldmum42 · 24/11/2011 14:21

Yes.... both this year with DS2 and last cycle with DS1. My DS's both gave me their details and instructed me to phone them if anything updated but I understand from other parents that this is not typical!

eatyourveg · 24/11/2011 14:40

Phew! Yes ds gave me his details too but no instructions to ring him (I think he did it because he knows I'm more nervous than he is) I noticed on TSR someone had got an offer yesterday for one of his choices so I logged in this morning to see if they'd sent anything to him. They had. Grin Will wait for him to check his emails, don't want to ruin the surprise.

adamschic · 24/11/2011 16:18

No I don't log onto track. DD seems to have plenty of chance to check her emails at school as she often emails me with instructions re running her life Grin

oldmum42 · 24/11/2011 16:48

Well done to Eatyourveg DC! I assume good news as you have a Grin !

No news for DS2 as school ref is still not sent..... so he's still on "apply" rather than "track".

Piffle · 24/11/2011 18:37

ooh ooh DS1 got an offer from Warwick! Totally unexpected and he is overjoyed

now just the A A and A plus STEP 2 to go :)

lazymumofteenagesons · 24/11/2011 18:46

Unconditional offer from Bath received this evening for the 4 year masters. I hope student finance funds 4 year masters courses. DS1 has applied for 2 of these.

adamschic · 24/11/2011 18:56

Piffle, Eatyourveg and Lazymum, good news about the offers. Agree now we have to worry about them getting the grades.

funnyperson · 24/11/2011 19:23

Congatulations on the DC's offers piffle lazymum and eatyourveg the veg must have helped Smile

funnyperson · 24/11/2011 19:23

I mean congratulations Smile

goinggetstough · 24/11/2011 19:29

Congrats to all those with offers today!

eatyourveg · 24/11/2011 20:20

OMG just logged into track with ds to print off this mornings offers to show dh and the main page said you must reply to your offers by May something. That wasn't there earlier. Final offer (Aberystwyth) came through this afternoon. 4 out of 4 and 3 of them on the same day! He'd left the 5th choice blank in case no-one wanted him, seems now they are queuing up!

Well done to all the other dc and good luck to all those still waiting. I'm off for a Wine

lazymumofteenagesons · 24/11/2011 21:18

congrats eatyourveg. Now he just has to decide which to accept. Bath say that they interview for DS1s course but have given him an unconditional with no interview! Its an odd system. A colleague's son is still visiting unis to decide where to apply and others have got all their offers. Doesn't seem right to me.
DS1 is happy so far with Kings and Bath but still waiting for his first choice of UCL. Still noone on student room seems to have heard yet for his subject so fingers crossed.

mrswoodentop · 24/11/2011 22:58

Yay ds has an offer too, from his top choice as well !So relieved we can now stop having the "what happens if I don't get any offers conversation"Grin

hermionestranger · 24/11/2011 23:04

Well done to everyone's DC who got offers! Fab news! I got my UCAS acknowledgement today, so now I wait!

redfuchsia · 25/11/2011 09:00

Congratulations to all the DC's who have offers - especially those with one from their top choice Uni! DC still waiting to hear from first choice.

ucasfracas · 25/11/2011 10:18

Well done to all DCs with offers! Eatyourveg was your DCs offer for Maths in Bath or am I getting confused?

Quiet here as far as my own DC is concerned, however a friend has had an offer for the MSc in Bath. Also heard that an extremely able pupil did not do very well in BMAT which is a shame think she'll be Ok in the end though. Oh and a lot of Oxbridge interviews and one rejection, poor kid was devastated.

adamschic · 25/11/2011 10:22

Mrs W that's good he's now got his top choice offer.

What are the chances of getting into Oxford if one has been selected for interview? Just wondering as I know someone who has an interview, not DD but a friend of hers.

gelatinous · 25/11/2011 10:33

adamschick, it's very subject dependent, some subjects interview a lot more per place than others. Do you know which college? Ds still waiting to hear. I was hoping he might know either way before the weekend, but it looks unlikely now.

Yellowstone · 25/11/2011 10:45

adamschic on the Oxford University website under Admissions Statistics they give a list of percentages of applicants interviewed for the last couple of years. It varies hugely, as gelatinous says.

gelatinous it'll come when you least expect it! Never discount the w/e - Saurday invites seem to be in vogue; the tutors will be working right through.

He must be thrilled mrswoodentop, you too :)

Yellowstone · 25/11/2011 10:46

Saturday nor Saurday..

gelatinous · 25/11/2011 10:53

thanks yellowstone think it's me that's biting my nails rather than him, but I'm fed up with waiting.

adamschic · 25/11/2011 11:02

OK, I do know what college but think I won't burden myself with checking it all out, as I said it's for a friend.

Yellowstone · 25/11/2011 11:06

College choice should make no difference, only subject.

mrswoodentop · 25/11/2011 12:46

Thanks, yes he is thrilled although relief also figures highly.his other preferred favourite requires an interview and no offer until feb /mar ,it would be nice to get an insurance offer as well though ,if there is such a thing at the moment.

Of course there is the small matter of getting the grades now
