A Level Anxiety

Toffee22 · 14/08/2011 22:42

Only 4 more "sleeps" until the A level results come out - not that I will be doing much sleeping...

Eldest son wants to study medicine. 3 "A's" required no slip ups allowed. Have just checked and most medical schools don't accept re-sits. How can I face looking at the cold hard facts at some point on Thursday. I'm sure it will be difficult for my son too! When I tried to talk to him about it today instead of a response he said he would do an "impression of a tree". It wasn't even a very good impression. What does this mean?

Nickschick, you're name is similar to mine, weird thing is that I get mistaken for a guy and I thought you were, rofl. Your post was great btw. Your FIL sounds lovely.

Verdict on the 'Inbetweeners' 7 out of 10. Whispers (I want to see it). To me it doesn't matter that you can see the jokes coming the cast are so familiar and funny!

nickschick · 17/08/2011 23:38

lol adamschic (adam is my ds middle name) lmao u thought i was a guy ....my fil is fab (he's 81 ex SAS).

Goodnight all -we are back from an amazing concert but DD is feeling restless and I have to give the computer to her for the morning because she spilt coca cola on hers.
Thank you for a really helpful thread.
Good Luck to all the DC and their parents and teachers!Smile

webwiz · 17/08/2011 23:55

Fingers crossed for everyone - we've been to the theatre to see We will Rock you and that got rid of the evening nicely. DD2 has gone to bed with her laptop ready for the morning and I'm hitting the wine.

follyfoot · 17/08/2011 23:58

Very nervous for DD now. She got 5 offers for politics, loved Newcastle so accepted their offer. They asked for AAB, but when she got an A* in her extended project, they dropped it to BBB. She thinks she may have got ABC, and we cant decide whether they will say ' we really want you, thats why we dropped your offer so low so come along anyway' or 'we dont want you now, we dropped your offer really low and you still didnt get it'

Confused

Good luck to everyone, I got about one hours sleep last night and now have to go to work(leave for this week was all booked up before I even joined). DS has promised to call/text me and his Father will be around should things not go well.
Good thing my crew mate today is also waiting for her dd's A-level results so we can cry/laugh together.

ajandjjmum · 18/08/2011 06:11

mumof3teens · 18/08/2011 06:18

FellatioNelson · 18/08/2011 07:24

How have you all managed to get on track so early?! I have just tried (thought you couldn't before 8) and it is down!!!!!!!!

Well done to everyone so far and commiserations to aj.

ajandjjmum · 18/08/2011 07:26

Try this link Fellatio

track.ucas.com/ucastrack/Login.jsp

follyfoot · 18/08/2011 07:27

Fellatio, have you tried the link I posted?

FellatioNelson · 18/08/2011 08:01

yes!! I 'm trying! Everywhere seems to have crashed. [Angry

I've been awake since 5 as well, so frustrating, I have been making a shortlist of clearing options and emailing them to him, and I didn't even think to look on track that early! GRRRR.

follyfoot · 18/08/2011 08:05

Yep DD thinks its crashed completely now - none of her friends can get on either. Hope you get on there soon Sad

superdollyfragilistic · 18/08/2011 08:06

Mine managed to get 1 result from Edexcel at 6am, and now clearing has crashed like it does every year. I feel sick with nerves...

Pagwatch · 18/08/2011 08:08

Yes, ds1 has his results A* A A (English, Latin, art) which should be ok but can't get on line to get place confirmation.
It was a 3a offer so should be fine but , you know....

FellatioNelson · 18/08/2011 08:08

When I finally get on there does anyone know what the exact phrase I will see is, if it is good news?

FellatioNelson · 18/08/2011 08:11

How are you getting the A level results early? we can't get our until half ten!

superdollyfragilistic · 18/08/2011 08:11

When you get on, where it says unconfirmed, will hopefully change to confirmed!
