He is doing well. dietician is gonna bollox the catering dept for refusaing to make his meals as requested (soft stuff like scrambled eggs, soups etc) as he still isnt doing well with 'solid food'.
He is now drain-less!! last one taken out this morning when i was there (ok i was hiding behind a curtain but you know what i mean). still doped up to his eyeballs on morphine, still got about a dozen different tubes for meds in place, but they are slowly going down. feet are hideously swollen, theyare keeping an eye on that, mainly due to the extra fluids going in with his IV.
and he should be back on the transplant ward within 24hours!!

big hugs to you all

Wow - great news. Lovely to hear he's doing better and all the drains are out.

sansouci · 11/07/2005 21:01

sounds pretty good, misdee! hooray!

QZebra · 11/07/2005 21:01

How is he on the morphine, misdee? My mother was completely out of her head, hallucinating, etc. I heard similar stories about my step-sister's real dad when he was on morphine.

tillykins · 11/07/2005 21:01

Gosh misdee, he's determined isn't he! Glad to hear things are progressing

Sorry missdee, lost track recently.

Transplant ward???

Does this mean he'll be back on the list too? the last I read was the LVAD (isthat right, sorry) mean's he'll be off the list for afew months.

This must be good news if he's back on it.....

(sorry for not keeping up)

whimsicaltrifle · 11/07/2005 21:02

Hooray, Misdee!!! He sounds like he's doing really well!

Morphine made my nose itch - weird. And my skin feel like jelly.

(Am Hunker, btw)

misdee · 11/07/2005 21:03

transplant ward is where he will be taken as he is still a 'transplant patient' and they are trained in VADs etc. he is only temporily off the list. its also very close to ITU.

Well, at least he is having a nice time, misdee
My mother claimed that the ward staff were trying to abuse her & it kind of freaked me out, but now I know that morphone completely wigs them out.
