He is doing well. dietician is gonna bollox the catering dept for refusaing to make his meals as requested (soft stuff like scrambled eggs, soups etc) as he still isnt doing well with 'solid food'.
He is now drain-less!! last one taken out this morning when i was there (ok i was hiding behind a curtain but you know what i mean). still doped up to his eyeballs on morphine, still got about a dozen different tubes for meds in place, but they are slowly going down. feet are hideously swollen, theyare keeping an eye on that, mainly due to the extra fluids going in with his IV.
and he should be back on the transplant ward within 24hours!!

Hope that Peter continues to go from strength to strength misdee. I'm not surprised - he has a wonderful family to get home to.

re morphine .....this is my pet peeve....i wish doctors would stick a notice up saying how this could effect people ,it is a very distressing thing to watch how people react on it ,,my mum had her hip done 2 ish weeks ago and she was convinced i had put her in a home!! she was up at 11pm telling the nurses to get her a taxi..and they phoned me to calm her down!! she was screaming at me on the phone,,in the end they sedated her [shes 84!] its great for the pain but its horrible for the relatives..last hip she had done she was knitting invisable blankets!,,and my late dad was making and smoking invisable ciggerettes!..............love to you all misdee.xxxxxxxxxxxxx

misdee · 12/07/2005 15:29

sastasleep i didnt look at them his drains werre nicely under the covers so i didnt need to look but could've if i wanted to. (i am such a wimp). but i have looked at his pump. blood looks quick thick really, was expecting a watery look, buts its looks like half set jelly. guess its because of the amount thats going in it.

I know and I posted my food comment without text sorry about that

Blu · 12/07/2005 16:50

Wow - this is such good news.
Hope the food gets sorted. Can you take soft stuff in for him yourself? Or get it from the hospiatl cafe and take it to him?

misdee · 12/07/2005 16:53

he has a fridge in his room so can take chilled stuff in, and can also get a voucher for a meal for him from the canteen, but he has been advised not to eat untill SALT has been to see him.
