Parent/s with Alzheimers

Does anyone have experience of the above? Father had Alzheimers - died years ago and my mother has had it for the past five years. Find it v stressful and sad - particularly as she really wanted grandchildren but barely knows me sometimes, let alone dds. There are some great support groups that I'm aware of but not too keen to get v involved with. She's in hospital at the moment due to a fall and next move is a nursing home which is giving me nightmares. To find her last home took about 15 visits - there are some great ones but some really (in my eyes) awful ones. Having said that I have SUCH admiration for anyone who can deal with dementia etc. Just wondered if anyone had experience of this?

Deepest sympathy Robinw, your mother was blessed by such a caring family; hope you can just remember the good times. Thinking of you and your family.

My LO has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's officially for 5 years. Memory was lost, didn't remember his mother, or past life, acted like a 12 yr old. he was 75, He had some terrible night as he kept asking to go to the bathroom and get up at night. The doctor prescribed a sleeping pill (zolpidem), but it had a very bad side effect on him (delusions and hallucinations) and we decided not to give it any more and went for the Neuro X program that was introduced to us by his primary care doctor, he was on the Neuro X program for Alzheimer’s disease from Uine Health Centre for 6 months.
