Just pulled out coil- can I use my mooncup though?

Ha! The little fecker is out. Growing increasingly concerned about copper toxicity from my copper coil as I have been exhibiting all the symptoms. So, I just pulled it out absent-mindedly. Am menstruating at moment, can I still use my mooncup? or is it infection risk?

BCNS · 14/03/2009 20:21

absent-mindedly*

JohnnyTwoHats · 14/03/2009 20:21

? bum doctor?

There was a moment when I was in the midst of removing it, I felt a bit faint and wondered if I was going to have to go to A and E with no makeup on

OP posts:
JohnnyTwoHats · 14/03/2009 20:22

Yes, it did hurt a little bit but wasn't that difficult. I made sure I could reach the phone, then got hold of the strings and pulled.

OP posts:
mrsmaidamess · 14/03/2009 20:23

There was a phone up there too? With strings?

LynetteScavo · 14/03/2009 20:24

You absent mindedly pulled out your coil?

BCNS · 14/03/2009 20:25

I'm sorry.. I really don't normally judge.. I really am the most mild mannered person ever.. but

freak! ewwwwwwww aghhhhhhhhh not a good look!!!

LynetteScavo · 14/03/2009 20:26

I have an image of you chatting on the phone and fumbling in you fanjo for some reason, then realising you'd absent mindedly pulled out your coil.

JohnnyTwoHats · 14/03/2009 20:26

Well it was a bit absentminded and a bit on purpose.

I decided if it didn't come easily that i would stop. But it did!

JohnnyTwoHats · 14/03/2009 20:26

no the phone was in case i went into cervical shock, then i could call ambulance

OP posts:
BCNS · 14/03/2009 20:27

and your pleased with yourself too.. ack!

LynetteScavo · 14/03/2009 20:28

I'd have like to hear you explaining yourself to the paramedics. Maybe they could include such a story line in Casualty?

Northernlurker · 14/03/2009 20:29

How do you know you haven't done terrible damage to your insides?? Is it really so easy that you just pull it??

JohnnyTwoHats · 14/03/2009 20:29

BCNS- why am I a freak?

You try developing severe acne (I didn't even get acne as a teenager), recurrent thrush, depression and bleeding like a bastard (for want of a better term) for nearly two weeks out of every month. And the most incredible cramps.

OP posts:
LynetteScavo · 14/03/2009 20:31

Presumably if there was no pain, there was no damage. They can jsut fall out without you noticing aparantly.

Personally I would have asked my GP to remove it, but that's just me. Actually, because I'm a wimp it may just stay up there forever.

BCNS · 14/03/2009 20:32

you pulled out your own coil... the GP will be open on Monday.. or last week.. but oh no.. DIY.

don't mind me

JohnnyTwoHats · 14/03/2009 20:34

I thought I would tell the ambulance personnel that the mooncup must have dislodged it

I know there can be no terrible damage because all I did was pull gently and it came out. That's all they do when they do it at the doctors anyway.

LynetteScavo · 14/03/2009 20:35

BCNS - at our GP you have to wait for the coil clinic...but I think if I were JohnnyTwoHats and would have been demanding the GP take it out yesterday - before my absent minded fumble and yank.

JohnnyTwoHats · 14/03/2009 20:35

Oh and hair loss as well.
