Weak pelvic floor muscles... help...!!

mum2toby · 10/04/2003 14:29

Since having ds nearly 2 years ago I have had terrible pelvic floor muscles! Even if I only need a little bit i have to be careful not to laugh too hard or cross my legs when I'm going to sneeze! It seems to have got worse over the past few months and it's starting to get me down. I don't want to have to wear those tena lady pad things for the rest of my life!!! I'm only 25!

Pelvic floor exercises make my skin crawl... I don't know why, but the thought of doing them is like someone scraping their nails down a blackboard!!! CRINGE!

Is there some form of exercise/activity I can do that will strenthen the muscles without me even realising??? Please help!

He He He .. this thread has cracked me up ... I think I might get them ... although I had a C/S!
In fact my 'in tact' muscles downstairs are the ONLY consolation I have about my C/S ...
Love the banter ...

bobbins, the becontent sounds great and a good price. How long did it take you to get to the "20 min ." they promise? Did you do it once a day? Once your muscles were better, did you continue to use it?

fisher01 · 29/04/2003 11:45

SofiAmes
took me a few weeks to get to be able to get to the 20 minutes but it's worth it! i keep mine near the shower so i don't forget to use it and keep up to it. have you used one?

ninja · 29/04/2003 13:26

mum2toby - have you bought them yet? maybe you're so quiet cos your busy practising!

SofiaAmes> My muscles weren't as bad as i thought and I was able to start my training on the smallest heaviest BeContent first. I could do a couple of minutes first of all. I also keep mine by the shower and use it whenever I'm in there. I think I could do £20 mins after about a month, but you can make it harder for yourself and therefore exercise the muscles more if you don't insert it in so far, your muscles have to grip harder. Also you can make them work harder if you move around more with it inserted.

It is really good and my partner has definitely noticed a difference. Also I can sneeze in confidence now

thanks ladies, i will buy one tonight. Hopefully one day soon I will be able to run after my toddler without having to change my trousers afterwards.
by the way fisher01, where do you live? I have a wonderful gp (after a few disastrous ones). It's an all female practice in west london.

fisher01 · 30/04/2003 11:09

SofiaAmes - I live in the north so I will have to keep looking! good luck with your beContent!
