Why is my period late?????

emmatmg · 13/04/2005 21:00

I'm not PG, 4 tests have confirmed that. Although there is a very very slim chance I could be but it's very unlikely.

I'm not stressed.

Nothing has changed in my life.

It's never late and is now 4 days overdue.

Am starting to think all sorts of sinister things.

Does anyone have any idea????

You sound stressed out about it being late, that can be enough to delay it!

vict17 · 13/04/2005 21:02

Have you lost any wieght recently?

nailpolish · 13/04/2005 21:02

hi what are you going to do? are you going to the dr?

is there anything you are worried it could be

emmatmg · 13/04/2005 21:03

I don't think I am though......confused about why it is but not stressed.

It's only ever late, with no signs of it starting when i'm PG but I know I'm not.

vict17 · 13/04/2005 21:11

are you on the pill? are you always on time?

emmatmg · 13/04/2005 21:13

Always 28 days, with signs it's going to start a few days before that.

Not on the pill, haven't been for yrs.

Hoxtonchick, it's too much like hard work changing back anf forth. Am I that obvious??

ha! the same part of your brain which controls thoughts, emotions and stress and worry also controls your menstrual cycle. Just the fact that you are concerned about this (and posting about it on mumsnet!) will probably be working to delay the period by at least a day! Stop thinking about it and it will start, I could almost bet you (easier said than done though I know!)

emmatmg · 13/04/2005 21:24

Did defo ovulate, learnt about knowing I have from here.

I not in the slightest bit worried about being PG. I'd love to be, Ok it wouldn't be ideal having 4 children in a 3 bed house but it really wouldn't be the end of the world.

I don't know how you girls manage with erratic cycles all the time. Must be a night mare.

OP posts:
piffle · 13/04/2005 21:29

who says we manage, do you have any idea how many preg tests I've peed on in the last week
nopw I'm eying up ovulation piddle test sticks
sad huh!

emmatmg · 13/04/2005 21:34

Well for what it is worth, I thought you were NDP

BTW DS was late for his first day back at nursery due to the other thread, so fair is fair.

SleepyJess · 13/04/2005 21:51

Emmatmg, mine was ten days late once last year for no apparent reason!! I was starting to get seriously alarmed.. DH has had a vasectomy!!

Around that time (apart from the ten days late month obv) I starting having 26 day cycles for months on end.. when I had always always had 28-29 day cycles. There are back to normal now. But my friend who knows about these things said that once you are 30ish, your periods can start to do odd things occasionally. not early menopausal.. just a not quite as regular. Are you 30 or over?

emmatmg · 13/04/2005 21:53

will be 32 in june.

christ.....it's because I'm getting old!

OP posts:
SleepyJess · 13/04/2005 21:55

Chill love chill! But PML.. that's just what I said to my-friend-who-knows-about-these-things! You're not getting old.. it's just one of those things! I was 33 in Feb.. and have suddenly noticed I have wrinkles.. currently awaiting delivery of v.expensive wrinkle from Avon..! So dodgy periods be buggered! ;)

emmatmg · 13/04/2005 21:58

I have feeling the doc will be next to useless too so going will be pointless.

I'll go just so he can write it on my notes, at least then it's there in black and white when it all started in case it carries on.
