Why is my period late?????

I'm not PG, 4 tests have confirmed that. Although there is a very very slim chance I could be but it's very unlikely.

I'm not stressed.

Nothing has changed in my life.

It's never late and is now 4 days overdue.

Am starting to think all sorts of sinister things.

Does anyone have any idea????

Periods can suddenly become erratic for no apparent reason, though the most common reason by far for absence of periods in a healthy woman of child-bearing age who is sexually active, is of course pregnancy! You're only a few days late. Wait and see. If it still hasn't come after 2 weeks do another test and the result might be different.

I always used to have reliable 31-day cycles for years, then they changed to 27-28 days for a few years, now they're usually 21 days or even less sometimes. A sign of my advancing age, I suspect! What a lot I have to look forward to!

Aw Emmatmg - & [happy] for you. Maybe it makes things a bit clearer in your head about what you want in the future???

FWIW, I didn't clock who you are! Am I dim???

Toothache · 14/04/2005 08:18

Don't answer that 'dim' question.... after teh [happy] sneaking in there I've answered it for you!!!!

nailpolish · 14/04/2005 08:20

oh emma

at least now you can stop going out of your mind with worry and 'what is it???'

periods really are a bloomin' curse

emmatmg · 14/04/2005 08:22

Thanks TA, Dh was coming round to the idea aswell. Talking loft conversions and all that.

He even asked about names last night!!!!

He wouldn't actually agree to trying though, I know that.

emmatmg · 14/04/2005 08:28

Aw sweetheart , I wanted it so badly for you, which I know is daft as I don't "know you", but that is the great thing about this place.

emmatmg · 14/04/2005 08:36

Thanks LGJ.

That's a lovely thing for you to say, this place is great isn't it?

I know just how you felt Emma, you just want to know one way or the other. After having had a 28 day cycle since being 16 suddenyl getting 34 day cycles exactly when I started ttc was soul destroying.
Yes DH did change his mind and we are now trying again

emmatmg · 14/04/2005 15:09

Excellent Piffle, I'll look out for the good news when it happens.

It's amazing and lovely and allsorts of wondeful things when they change their minds isn't it?, I remeber it well when Dh changed his for No.3. I will honestly be flabergasted until my dying day that he changed his mind and even now that DS3 is 19months I can still remember how magical I felt

Good luck, I hope you get a BFP really really soon.
