ds2 (nearly 14 months) has still got a high temp. I took him doctors last night and they said to just give him medised and ibuprophen. He hasnt got an ear infection, just a virus. (isnt that what they put everything down to these days???)

We are both fraught (sp?) and exhausted.
he is laying here in his vest and nappy shivering but boiling. he is trying to go to sleep but everytime he closes his eyes, after a few minutes, he mutters, throws his arms and legs around and starts screaming and wakes up like he is hallucinating (not sure is possible at this age). he hasnt even got the energy to crawl...he just lays here on the floor moaning and crying when he is awake....im trying to get fluids into him and so far he has taken them ok. What else can I do? I feel so helpless........

That's a nice name, Ti'nia.

The anti biotics will sort him out Titania. So glad you have the answer to what is wrong with him and, what's more, the treatment to set him right again. All illnesses are made worse by not knowing what it is, I find.

Oh bless him , that is miserable. Do hope you manage to catch up on some sleep now and that he starts to feel better soon.

titania, if you want your post naming ds removed, email [email protected], and they will do it for you

Thanks lou. It's ok. I'm not that worried TBH.

Update......
ds2 is still looking and probably feeling rotten. He slept quite well last night. Went to bed at 8.30 and slept til 4am, which is a vast improvement to the past few nights. But.....he woke up still with a high temperature. He has had a bottle of milk, his antibiotics, paracetamol and ibuprophen . He had a mouthful of my porridge cos he looked interested in it but I think it hurt him to swallow because he started gagging. He wanted to eat it but couldn't...poor little darling. He has just had some warm juice and fallen asleep on the cushion on the floor now. I am just going to leave him there. He's not in any danger of getting trodden on and he's on a cushion so he should be ok.

I feel a bit better for getting some sleep but still feel drained! I suppose I still need to catch up!
