What can I do to stop my legs aching so much and avoid varicose veins?

I'm 30 and have almost permanently aching lower legs and am increasingly concerned about varicose veins.

I played with DS this morning, washed up and did a few chores - pretty average activity - and by lunchtime, my legs were already really aching and I've had to put my feet up.

I exercise a few times a week and eat well, but am not really, really fit. I'm not overweight at all. Why the achy legs? And I'm guessing my increasingly veiny legs are related to the achiness.

What can I do about this? I don't want my legs to feel so tired and weighty after a leisurely morning. And I don't want an otherwise decent pair of legs to end up covered in varicose veins. (They run in my family.)

Grateful for any advice. Thanks.

My friend had this (while pregnant) and got support tights which seemed to help. Have you tried them? Dont know anything re medical side tho. Might want to chat to a doctor?

Thank you both. Support stockings seem a good idea, and the horse chestnut supplement sounds encouraging.
