Just put my Pj's on and felt my nipple area wet looked down and and pulled back my top and my there is a wet patch on top and nipple wet, dont know why i did it but squeezed my nipple and was amazed that out came some creamy yellowy coloured fluid?

It is strange because I was saying to my sister last week that just recently I have been having a kind of let down reflex feeling in my nipple and found it a bit weird when it happened...now this.

Anyone else have this/ is it normal so long after having children.

Any pain? Are you sure it's not an infection or abscess?

twinsplus1 · 06/08/2008 20:18

It happened to me a while back. Was very concerned and went to the doctor. He said he would refer me as a non urgent case if I was still experiencing it in a months time. It went away - not sure what caused it!

TheArmadillo · 06/08/2008 20:19

There are several things that can cause this - but you do need to see your doctor about it.

butterflybessie · 06/08/2008 20:20

I have this all the time, I thought it was just one of those things

SoupKitchen · 06/08/2008 20:23

I had my last child, 2 and a half years ago. I have never stopped leaking milk. Normally it is when I have a hot bath, or most inconvieniently, during sex.
I think the only reason I notice it at these times is I am naked and leaks are probably absorbed by clothes at all other times.

I have never really thought much of it.
But cannot believe I am telling all on the net

Do others really think It is so concerning a drs visit is required?

SoupKitchen · 06/08/2008 20:24

Thank god BB another wierdo

Tidgypuds · 06/08/2008 20:26

Peggotty, no pain, I cant feel any lumps or bumps that may be an infection either.

Thearmadillo- what kind of things? I will make appointment tomorrow morning.

How long since your last baby butterflybessie?

OP posts:
TheArmadillo · 06/08/2008 20:27

have a look here

Certain medicines, hormonal imbalances, overethusiastic nipple stimulation and other things can all cause this. Rarely it can be a sign of something serious so it is worth checking with doctor.

butterflybessie · 06/08/2008 20:28

2 and a half years ago for me too

butterflybessie · 06/08/2008 20:30

Just read the info - I am, ahem, slightly older than most

Doctors surgeries and 4 children rarely seem like a fun place to go .

I am overdue a smear test as well, so bloody difficult to do anything these days

Tidgypuds · 06/08/2008 20:33

Ok no lump under armpit.
Not on any medication whatsoever.
Not on the pill.

I have a merena coil fitted...hormones from that maybe?, yes im clutching at straws here.

Overenthusiastic nipple stimulation...if only, they havent seen any action in well over 10 months

Its good to now {I think} that its not just me but I certainly havent had this before.

Bit worried.

Tidgypuds · 06/08/2008 20:34

Tidgypuds · 06/08/2008 20:36

OP posts:
Ceolas · 06/08/2008 20:39

I had this too for about 3 years after my 3rd. Then became pg and had a 4th so not sure when/if it would have stopped.

PinkTulips · 06/08/2008 20:42

just out of curiosity, you have done a pregnancy test right? only you wouldn't be the first MNer to have a failed coil. do you have any other odd syptoms?

Tidgypuds · 06/08/2008 20:42

So this seems to be quite common thing then [feeling much better emoticon] Will still speak to GP in morning though just to make sure.

OP posts:
Tidgypuds · 06/08/2008 20:48

Not had any rumpy since October-ish last year so haven't done a test.

No other syptoms I can think of.

I had really bad ovulation pain a week ago and had to take pain killers for it.

Best friend has just had a baby and I was holding him 2 days ago maybe that trggered something off?! or is that bonkers.

OP posts:
PinkTulips · 06/08/2008 21:06

not bonkers.

even some men can lactate if stimulated

if your body was feeling broody and was then presented with a lovely smelly new baby hormones might have taken over.

butterflybessie · 06/08/2008 21:08

sort of milky , really this is not like me to share this kind of info on t'internet

def TMI now, if I squeeze my boosom then I can produce some, it could be my party trick if I were that way inclined which I am not!

Definitely no chance of pregnancy.

Finished bf-ing almost 1 and a half years ago

As I said, I presumed it was completely normal, I am a total prude and avoid discussing bodily functions with anyone

Tidgypuds · 06/08/2008 21:13

Thats interesting pinktulips even men!
Its funny because I was in the bath with the Ds & DD last week and we were talking about my best friend having her new baby and about where milk came from and my ds said can I still drink milk from your boobies now mummy if I wanted to? I said no your a big boy now and its for little babies and mummy doesnt make milk now.
I dont think I will let him know about this

OP posts:
SoupKitchen · 06/08/2008 21:21

Mine is definately milky as well, tends to leak from exactly same place as when breat feeding IE not just the tip of the nipple but several places on areola as well.

I think I must be a leaky woman.

Also on no meds and DH has had a vasectomy so def not PG

Tidgypuds · 06/08/2008 21:23

Mine is just coming from one place one little spot not the whole nipple?!
The fluid is sticky ...ok prob TMI.

OP posts:
Tidgypuds · 06/08/2008 21:24

Is it both nipples Soupkitchen?

OP posts:
RusselBrussel · 06/08/2008 21:26

I 'leaked' on and off for 3 years after my second pregnancy. And now, 5.5 years after my second pregnancy, and I can still squeeze a drop of milky stuff out of my nipples if I try. (but I don't try)

[should have name changed emoticon]

madcol · 06/08/2008 21:27

I've also had yellowy milk droplets from both breast since stopping breast feeding 13 months ago. Din't really worry me - until now.
