Doing the 60k Breakthrough Breast Cancer walk

I have signed up to do the 60k Breakthrough Breast Cancer walk, which takes place in London in September.

As some of you may know I lost a good school friend of mine to breast cancer 10 years this coming December (she was only 29 when she died) and am doing this walk in memory of her.

I have to raise a minimum of £1500 to walk, as if the training won't be hard enough, so..... if you would like to sponsor me, you can do it online by following this link, any amount would be lovely. You can use your switch or credit cards, I do NOT have access to the money!

Thank you in advance for looking or thinking about this. I am sure I am not the only person on MN affected by this cause.

Do you have details of the walk? Is it on their homepage? I missed out on the moonwalk because the places filled even more quickly than last time and my application didn't arrive in time over Christmas. Would love to do this one. tia

Yes, follow my link, and then get into their home page

Thank you.

Hope your fundraising goes well. If I don't manage to do this then I'll definitely sponsor you.

Thank you to all at MN who have donated, so far my fund stands at £120 so only another £1380 to go, not much if you say it fast.

I really do appreciate all donation, and its so easy to do

Anyway thank you, I will write on here how I am getting on, and how my training is going, so far I can do 3km in 23 minutes, and am training for about 1hr in the gym three times a week.

MunchedTooManyMarsLady · 02/02/2005 12:29

hi deegward. I've received my info and have decided that I'm going to register and do the walk too. It looks really exciting and a bit more of a challenge than the last walk I did. Sorry to hijack your thread. Good luck with your training etc..

Kayleigh · 02/02/2005 12:31

Good for you. Great cause and sorry to read about your friend. Very sad.

Were your ears burning on Sunday ? Anorak and I were saying we hadn't heard from you. Would be lovely to see you at another meet-up. Take care X

deegward · 02/02/2005 14:28

There was a bit of redness around my ears I seem to recall , unfortunately this Friday I'm out with the other mums from school, as ds1 is now f/t . But yes I will try to make to the next meet up, as everything is a lot calmer now.

Thank you for your donation, the fund is now at 20% big
