Doing the 60k Breakthrough Breast Cancer walk

I have signed up to do the 60k Breakthrough Breast Cancer walk, which takes place in London in September.

As some of you may know I lost a good school friend of mine to breast cancer 10 years this coming December (she was only 29 when she died) and am doing this walk in memory of her.

I have to raise a minimum of £1500 to walk, as if the training won't be hard enough, so..... if you would like to sponsor me, you can do it online by following this link, any amount would be lovely. You can use your switch or credit cards, I do NOT have access to the money!

Thank you in advance for looking or thinking about this. I am sure I am not the only person on MN affected by this cause.

message for MTMMarsLady - you said you didn't get a place on the moonwalk. Can I ask how you know? The reason is my entry fee cheque has been cashed, but I haven't heard anything from the organisers. Have you had a letter?

MunchedTooManyMarsLady · 03/02/2005 21:06

No, I forgot to post my form before Christmas. I checked the website the day I was due to post it and it said that it was full! SOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely gutted. I have no memory at the moment and it's driving me mad. Missed the kids photos at school, have calls to make, letters to post etc. Still at least I remember to come online to MN. Don't worry, they'll let you have a letter soon. Chances are that you are in and the forms will arrive soon. They're not that brilliant at getting them straight out to you. hth

Thanks for that, and sorry you didn't get a place. Its my first venture into anything proper, and am really looking forward to it. At the moment (well, not at this precise moment obviously ) I'm taking in the London Parks as I get in training. Had the most wonderful walk in Regents Park in the bright sunshine, all cold and crisp.
