I clean them twice!
Once as soon as I get up, then again just before I leave the house.

hellospring26 · 28/04/2026 07:18

After my shower. I don’t eat breakfast

Sunshineandrainbow · 28/04/2026 07:24

As soon as I get up before tea. Have breakfast later at work about 10.

FinnoualaSpork · 28/04/2026 07:25

Used to do it before (on the rare occasion I eat breakfast) but now I like to tepe things out from my teeth after eating so I try and eat breakfast, give it half an hour, then tepe and brush teeth so the enamel is weakened through any acidic foods immediately after eating.

Alwaysthesameoldstory · 28/04/2026 08:11

If I get showered and dressed before breakfast I clean my teeth straight after my shower.
But if I have breakfast in my dressing gown and shower and dress afterwards - my lazy but preferred option - I clean my teeth after breakfast.

Didimum · 28/04/2026 08:15

You’re supposed to clean your teeth before breakfast.

Agreed, this is what every dentist I've been to has recommended - 30 minutes after eating.

As soon as get up I hate the feeling of dry/unclean teeth and my tongue then I do it again after breakfast and floss then

tnorfotkcab · 28/04/2026 12:00

before.

this is because get up, wee, shower and brush teeth etc - then go down and have breakfast.

but it makes little difference, as long as you brush twice a day.

dementedpixie · 28/04/2026 12:02

Depends what day it is
During the week its before breakfast and at weekends its after breakfast

DiscoBeat · 28/04/2026 12:12

When I've showered and then again after breakfast

Meredusoleil · 28/04/2026 12:16

Mouthwash before to get rid of the morning breath and then brush after breakfast to get rid of any food debris.

Tillow4ever · 28/04/2026 12:36

I don’t have breakfast so it’s hours after brushing I next eat.

MrsCarmelaSoprano · 28/04/2026 12:39

As soon as I get up. I'm a child of the 70s so it's taken a long time to rid the straight after breakfast habit.

UnaOfStormhold · 28/04/2026 12:44

I've always been in the habit of doing them after breakfast. Having heard that's not ideal, I am now trying to remember to brush them beforehand and waterfloss afterwards to get any bits out. But lots of the time I eat breakfast before I remember so end up doing both brushing and flossing 30mins after eating.

Riapia · 28/04/2026 13:04

Yes, and again at night.

Itsanewdawnitsanewdayitsanewlife4me · 28/04/2026 14:37

After my second coffee and I do not deviate from this. I normally have coffee while making lunches and breakfasts and a coffee at leisure before leaving for work as my child gets school bus however even if I have to drop child to school and I am not leaving for work I will drop him without brushing my teeth if I know I am coming home to a second coffee. I need two coffees a morning and cannot eat anything, drink anything else nor brush teeth before my coffees.

ButterYellowHair · 28/04/2026 14:59

As soon as I’m up otherwise my mouth tastes gross

See I just don’t understand this. Doesn’t your mouth taste and smell rank when you wake up? I couldn’t get ready and then go eat breakfast while my mouth is smelly

BipolarBabe34 · 28/04/2026 15:03

after I get up in the morning and before I go to bed at night I brush, floss and use mouthwash but then again I don’t eat breakfast x

blankcanvas3 · 28/04/2026 15:04

After my first coffee, whilst I’m getting ready for the day (makeup, hair etc). I don’t eat breakfast.

ProjectDog · 28/04/2026 15:04

Before breakfast as that is what dentist recommends.

Not as far as I know. Do you breathe through your mouth at night? I think that's sometimes associated with your mouth tasting unpleasant in the morning.

Blanketpolicy · 29/04/2026 15:15

Work days before "breakfast" as breakfast is usually once I am at work.

Weekends I usually only brush in mornings if/when leaving house.

ohyesido · 29/04/2026 15:39

Whenever it occurs to me. I try to do it soon after waking but some days I’ll be on the train and think oh ffs
