I clean them twice!
Once as soon as I get up, then again just before I leave the house.

Be careful you don’t brush all your enamel away!

Before I leave the house, I don't eat breakfast, so I shower, get dressed, have 2 cups of tea, then brush my teeth.

SwedishEdith · 29/04/2026 15:53

Before breakfast and then waterfloss after.

What is the guidance? Seems mixed opinions on here...

I tend to eat breakfast just before I leave the house so take my toothbrush with me and clean my teeth before I go in to work.

At weekends it is just before I leave the house or by 11am if I'm not going out. Earlier if anyone is staying - pretty much first thing. If it is just me I find that any staleness goes away once I've had a glass of water so I wait until a good chunk of time after breakfast.

If I’m having breakfast I clean them after I’ve eaten.
I don’t often have breakfast though so I clean them after my shower before I put makeup on. I still manage to get toothpaste everywhere despite being a fully fledged adult!

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 29/04/2026 16:26

It is the very first thing I do in the morning, before shower, before even a pee. Hate that furry feeling on my teeth.

I don't breakfast or tea or coffee though so don't have to worry about that tasting weird post-brush.

W0tnow · 29/04/2026 16:37

Coffee first thing. Clean teeth a little while after. Not immediately. If I’m home I clean them after lunch and again before bed.

Coffeecakeandspice · 30/04/2026 10:53

Before breakfast, as otherwise you just brush what ever you've eaten into your teeth. Or if doing them after, it would mean waiting half an hour which wouldn't work for me.

DeskGnome · 30/04/2026 10:56

I've put after breakfast but I don't eat breakfast.

So what I mean is after my cup of tea.

My son is weird and can't drink his tea unless he's cleaned his teeth.

Whenever it occurs to me. I try to do it soon after waking but some days I’ll be on the train and think oh ffs

Do you keep a little travel toothbrush and toothpaste in your work bag?

I keep toothpaste and a toothbrush in my work locker as occasionally I'll go straight out after work.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 30/04/2026 11:51

After a coffee. I don’t eat breakfast.

Blarn · 30/04/2026 11:55

First thing. Have a wee, wash hands, brush teeth. The two minutes brushing tie means the cistern has filled back up and I can put the shower on after my teeth are brushed with no loss of water pressure.

BlueLakeView · 30/04/2026 20:15

I clean my teeth before bed, so my mouth is fine in the morning, I couldn't eat breakfast with the toothpaste taste in my mouth, so I do it afterwards
I wonder why people have bad breath in the morning, is it alcohol, smoking, eating before bed? I do none of those
