anyone 'viral' / noro / upset stomach atm?

Been feeling off for 4 days, nothing major but diarrhoea hitting at night. I am on hrt and find that I get diarrhoea if a patch has fallen off. Tonight it had fallen off but not sure if that or just got noro or something. Seems a bit more extreme than just a hormonal thing. Plus been feeling off for a few days and a bit nauseous after eating (which is definitely not me or hormones)

Anyone else aware of something doing the rounds more than usual?

Me. Third time since September. This week feeling v nauseous after eating, so not really eating much but it's not helping. Stomach making ridiculous noises and urge to run to the loo regularly (although not always anything happening). Feeling a bit wrung out. Currently awake with the most uncomfortable, gurgly stomach but can't face ages in a freezing bathroom.

There’s been a weird little tummy bug doing the rounds where I live. Some people are getting awful stomach pain with it but not much else, but most are having sudden diarrhoea and feeling under the weather for 3-5 days. Some have nausea but most just feel a bit off their food.

I must have gone to bed before seeing your post. Are you feeling any better? I've had a few episodes and I know my patch falling off, or forgetting to change it in time can cause diarrhoea, unfortunately, especially as I never suffered with this sort of thing before.

But last night much more like you described and for the last 4 days. Today no nausea, so hoping it was a bug, it's just after having this here and there for some months (without nausea though) I am getting a little worried. But each time it's either explainable by a bug that others have reported near me, or my patch, or a medication change or something.

I'll give it another week as it's improved now at least. I'm not looking after my diet at the moment due to unrelenting stress, but that should resolve soon as well. I've never had stomach problems through stress though.

Hope you're feeling better and will have a better night :-)

3 weeks ago I had awful stomach pain in the lower part of my stomach, I wondered if it was my womb as it was around there, but then diarrhoea and it resolved. I think that's why I was worried about this because it's like 3 weeks later it was back, but no pain this time, just a bit nauseous after eating. I had a temperature today as well so feeling a little more confident that it's a bug. Yeah when I had that stomach pain it was very unusual. Never usually get stomach pain.

As a family, we’ve had more stomach bugs in the past year than we’ve ever had before!

Last week was the most recent bout. Eldest DD started vomming last Sunday night and then the rest of us went down like dominoes over the next 24 hours. It passed quickly though.

Whatsmyusername94 · 23/11/2025 00:22

My son started being sick on Monday night and I’ve only started throwing up tonight 😭

LilacPomPom · 23/11/2025 00:23

The gastro problems massively hit our house, twice since September. There’s definitely something floating around and I’m of the belief my DS got it from Nursery. Sending you well wishes ❤️

I had what was either Covid or the flu. Tested negative to Covid but was in bed pouring in sweat and feeling dreadful for 4 days. For the next 3 weeks I had a horrendous stomach- really unreliable- griping pains which felt like I needed to trump but quite a few times I ended up for want of a better phrase ‘soiling myself’. No nausea - just abdominal cramps, exhaustion and sporadic diarrhoea. Awful. Quite a few other people ha similar. Hope it moves on quickly for you. 🤮

Nellie67 · 23/11/2025 22:57

Yes it's horrific. Loads around my area have had it. Kids were a bit off food and a bit sweaty last week, thought nothing of it. Saturday DH was doubled over with stomach cramps and diaherra all day. Ran a fever that night, all aches and pains and was wiped for days. My stomach has been "off", bit sore, gurgling, reflux and I ran a bit hot last night. We're like domino's here too because DM couldn't get out of bed today with awful stomach cramps either.

sorry to hear loads have had it where you are and your poor DH was so bad.

I feel a bit better hearing all this from everyone though because I've, sorry for the descriptives, never had diarrhoea like that! Not painful, just really not normal and I was telling myself I was either a very sick person or it was a bug. I think it's on the way out now. No more runs but still feeling off, tired, temperature etc.

You really needed to hear all that😂

thanks, interesting you had a dodgy stomach for 3 weeks, as I had a similar but much milder episode 3 weeks ago, that was more painful though. That's why I was worried by the other night, but it may be something that takes a while to leave.

I’m with you - I’ve had my fair share of stomach bugs in my time, but the ones we’ve had this year have been on another level. The violence of the diarrhoea was worse than I’ve ever experienced!! Some sort of super-noro or something 🤯🫣

dennydan · 24/11/2025 11:59

Ive had violent diarrhea for 6 days. Beginning to lose the will. Checked in with drs but not got back to my e consult. Diarrhea has me up most of the night so really knackered. Managing to drink and eat a bit but goes straight through me.

Trying to get advice is tricky as internet says get in touch if you have diarrhea for 24 hours now on my 6th day and hard to speak to anyone!

Hope it settles down soon. Not sure what else it might be apart from a bug

Regularmumm · 24/11/2025 18:24

I keep having a weird stomach too, it comes and goes. Started a few weeks ago. Get tummy ache and fart a lot then loose stools (sorry TMI!!!) for 24 or 36 hours then it goes away. Sometimes have a terrible headache, always a stuffy nose, sometimes a sore throat. I’ve never had anything like this. Then I have a few days where I feel normal again. Then tummy ache returns.

Gingernaut · 24/11/2025 18:39

Me

Exposed twice to vomit from the child of a total stranger being dragged around a big supermarket

Kid was spewing around the shop and mum screamed racist bloody murder when the staff asked her to leave

Currently at the 'can't trust a fart' stage and off sick from work until 48 hours after the last 'episode'

The way that kid was vomiting, I've got a long way to go

Omg, is it easing up at all? Have you had other symptoms to suggest a bug, like a temperature or anything? Important to watch all your vital signs, make sure you're passing urine properly, temperature not too high or for too long. I'm sure you know this but important to be careful.

Other than me doing a safety check, you have my sympathy, I really hope you get a quieter night tonight. Keep sipping fluids, stay away from caffeine atm as it will just move everything along faster.

If you're at all worried don't hesitate to give 111 a call. I really hope you're a bit better tonight and will soon be on the mend.

That's what's been happening to me for 3 weeks. And because I get a bit of mild diarrhoea if I mess up my hrt anyway, I was worried that maybe it wasn't the hrt after all and was something really awful. I do think I'm getting over it now, thank goodness, but had all those symptoms, throat a bit sore again today and then it will go again...

That's just horrible to hear. The minute my child vomited I would have alerted the staff and got out of there. Wouldn't have gone in if I'd known it was likely. I know sometimes it can't be predicted but people who don't care make me angry. It could make someone really ill.

How are you now? I hope you're feeling a bit better!

Yep - we’ve all had it. DD3 had nausea for a couple of days and a headache for a week.

DD1 had a bit of sickness, nausea for 3-5 days and a headache

I had sickness overnight then headache for a week and ongoing nausea for 2 weeks

lovely!

sorry to hear you've all had it. But I'm glad to hear there's a lot of it about as trying to work out what is my hrt mess up and what is a bug and what is something to really worry about lol, well it's difficult of late.

I'm glad I've seen this thead. I've had the most horrible stomach cramps and diarrhoea for 3 days now. Scared to eat anything and anything I do eat, like toast, just goes straight through me. TMI but it's just like water.

Can't think it's anything I've eaten, no one else has it. I can only think I've caught it from a busy shopping centre at the weekend.

I've never had a bout like this so bad. Hoping it will stop soon.

Gingernaut · 25/11/2025 19:20

I think the worst is over

Still feel awful, but no D+V for a few hours

Washed the uniform and coat I was wearing when all this started yesterday and will probably be back to work on Friday

I can't say how I'll feel, but barring any further events, the 48 hours will be up then

Regularmumm · 25/11/2025 22:01

I feel as if every few days I am fighting off a cold. Sore throat and runny nose today. Some stomach pains, loads of sneezes and farting more than usual. Sorry if TMI.

TopazQuartz · 26/11/2025 02:31

well I'm back at it tonight :-/ although generally better and was out shopping today which I wouldn't have done if didn't feel this was over. But tonight, temp high a bit, feeling off and then here we go again with the runs. Not as bad as the other night but after being fine for 48 hours or more, odd for it to return. Still hoping it will leave but confident now it's something viral. I'll give it the rest of the week to fully resolve, otherwise it's doctor and tests (due to other milder diarrhoea that is probably hormonal but can't ignore in light of this as well)
