anyone 'viral' / noro / upset stomach atm?

Been feeling off for 4 days, nothing major but diarrhoea hitting at night. I am on hrt and find that I get diarrhoea if a patch has fallen off. Tonight it had fallen off but not sure if that or just got noro or something. Seems a bit more extreme than just a hormonal thing. Plus been feeling off for a few days and a bit nauseous after eating (which is definitely not me or hormones)

Anyone else aware of something doing the rounds more than usual?

I think the worst is over

Still feel awful, but no D+V for a few hours

Washed the uniform and coat I was wearing when all this started yesterday and will probably be back to work on Friday

I can't say how I'll feel, but barring any further events, the 48 hours will be up then

I really do hope you'll feel better then!

I am also expoerencijg this 5 days today Sunday it started with bad headache and boiling temp and cold. Fever. And I couldn’t get out of bed, then now
diarrhoea that won’t go away, I can’t even keep dirolyte down or water. I’ve spoke to doctors been there who said I wil get over it. Took an Imodium to get a break and bam it’s back again. Can I ask are u in the uk? I’m so glad I come across this because I really thought it was just me! What is going on!! I want to go hospital rung 111 told me to
go up there to sit and wait and of course I cannot even leave my bathroom. It’s so watery, yellow and like froth sorry. (tmi) I have a small baby too and I’m so worried about this and him catching it.

I've felt awful for weeks. It started with low Vitamin D, then I thought it was stomach upset, then developed into a cold. I switched to soup and felt better, but have had loads of gastro bloating, gas etc. Just come down with another full on cold, more gastro upset. I've coughed so hard I've been sick.

I'd love to go off sick but I don't think a week would be long enough.

Ive had violent diarrhea for 6 days. Beginning to lose the will. Checked in with drs but not got back to my e consult. Diarrhea has me up most of the night so really knackered. Managing to drink and eat a bit but goes straight through me.

Trying to get advice is tricky as internet says get in touch if you have diarrhea for 24 hours now on my 6th day and hard to speak to anyone!

Hope it settles down soon. Not sure what else it might be apart from a bug

I’m exactly the same! I’m wishing you better is it ok now? Has it stopped for you? I’m on my 5th day today :(

I'm in the UK, of course none of us have any idea if we've got the same thing but a few of us saying it's on and off for a week. I seem a bit better but no energy today and just wanted to be in bed which I couldn't be.

I really hope it calms down for you especially as it's difficult to go to the hospital atm. Try your best to stay hydrated. When I was a child I had gastro enteritis and the doctor said even if you have to just swallow a teaspoon of water at a time to keep it down, do that. If your temperature has come down I imagine that's a good sign. Keep in touch with 111 if you need to. Hoping you'll have a better next 24 hours.

Really sorry to hear. So many of us with lowered immune systems I think.

I've had this all week now, hardly eaten yet still getting stomach cramps every hour and going to the loo, even if passing tiny amounts.

I'm thinking maybe Campylobacter or Salmonella or Norovirus (is that usual short lived though). Can't think of anywhere obvious I would have picked anything up.

Hoping to an end very soon for all.

It has been a full week now and is getting slightly better. TMI diarhea is still here but less frequent now. I haven't ventured outside or done much yet though.

So weak but have had disturbed nights for a week and not much food so I guess that is no surprise.

Fingers crossed you are over the worst. It has been the most horrible exhausting bug I have ever had! Stool sample has been sent off but not got the results yet. Noone else in the familly has got it which is very odd.

Fingers crossed you begin to feel better soon

Just wondering how everyone else is now? Well over a week and I still have symptoms. A sample has gone off now.

Not with the same urgency and cramps but still have diarrhoea. Hopefully the tests will show something up.

Hope you're ok keep us posted.

I 'think' I'm ok, in that it's gone away gradually over time so I'm not totally sure it's gone. But my temperature is back to normal and that overwhelming tiredness is less now.

What I had was horrible so hoping it was a bug that's doing the rounds.

and it's my fourth week that it all seems to be stopping, three days now where no problem at all but because it came back a few times I'm not declaring clear yet lol. So many described more than a few days with it.

I'm glad the worst it over for you.

Over 2 weeks for me and I'm still not right, abdo pain has gone. Still no results back on the NHS App and it's almost a week. If it's clear I do wonder what this is, has to be some kind of bug.

Never had anything as bad as this, especially in the first few days. Exhausting (and sore) going to the loo so often.

It sounds like campylobacter, I had it last year
started with a headache and high temp then constant diarrhoea and cramps, felt sick but wasn’t sick
lost 1.5 stone then my hair started falling out 3 months after

3678194b · 15/12/2025 14:06

Just to update on this as I am more or less better now. It was Salmonella. No idea where from but suspect it was from a meal out 2 days before. Nothing felt or tasted off at the time.

Anyway food poisoning is awful, I'd honestly never been the loo so much or felt so sick or had stomach pains so bad (I'd even argue being in labour wasn't as bad!) It's taken a good 3 weeks to get over it. I hope everyone else's symptoms have gone now.
