OJ have you thought if maybe getting a "slip mat" they help with moving someone up the bed & also could move him side to side IYKWIM? we use them alot in my job & they work well for moneuvering.

Bloody MIL , i vote for mass MN voodoo doll ceremony on her.
DNs should be able to get slidy sheets to help move Steve and get him comfy, equally DNs should have plenty of tricks up their sleeves for placing the driver (should he need it) so that it doesn't irritate him (speaking as an ex DN )

Glad to hear the pain relief is getting sorted for Steve OJ, now how about them doing something to stop that pain in your arseneck?
