2 week wait cancer referral

Is anyone else currently in the 2ww for a suspected cancer referral? Thought I’d make a thread just so we could keep each other company and have a chat to distract ourselves as it really is an anxious wait! I was referred on the 13th, I saw the consultant on the 15th and my ultrasound is on Thursday.

Got an appointment next Wednesday :-( if it's good news surely they would just tell me?

I suppose you could have basically good news but maybe still have some sort of treatment need or ongoing monitoring they want to tell you about. At any rate please try not to fear the worst. I hope all goes well for you on Wednesday.

@ForFairMoose did you end up getting ok results? I didn’t get referred in TWW for my neck lump but diagnosed with suspected benign tumour maybe around June time and have had the biopsy (horrible having the needle in the neck!) and mri and just got my results I’d assumed everything was ok as I didn’t hear back till my planned consultation beginning of Nov - pretty sure it is still benign but it’s being operated on as biopsy wasn’t conclusive enough! Just hope everything is ok with yourself

Thank you, yes that's what I'm hoping for!

Not necessarily, I had some lumps removed, literally asked to be updated by phone and they set f2f meeting. It was nothing!

But they didn't suspect tbf. Why was it biopsy and not a removal btw?

It was classed as a biopsy but they did remove it all. Wish they would just ring me tbh as it's not easy for me to get there

I see. Did they mention whether they thought it would be ok?

You could try to call them and see if they move it for over the phone.

There didn't say much but at no point offered any reassurance it wasn't anything serious, and they immediately wanted to remove it. I did think I might try and ring them to request this although it's almost impossible to get through

Its a really long time to wait if it would be something though! I would imagine that would be much faster!
