My child put some sudocrem in his mouth

I need some advice my 3 year old grabbed the sudocrem tub and got it everywhere, all over his face, hands, arms and he put some in his mouth, if he ingested loads of it how soon would the vomiting, diarrhea and seizures start cause I'm a first time mom and I don't really want to call 999 if hes going to be ok, he hasn't been sick yet or anything else has happened, he done this about 45 minutes ago

They will be fine. If you are really worried ring 111 . They would have had to have eaten a load.

As it tastes foul he's unlikely to do similar again

worked up. Of course don’t call 999. Speak to 111 if you are that worried. I can’t imagine he ate much as it doesn’t taste nice. I would just keep and eye on them if it were mine I wouldn’t have known sudocrem could cause seizures?! Surely they would have to eat a tub full for such harmful effects? It’s used on babies day in and day out so I can’t imagine it’s that dangerous.

There is an old thread here. I think he will be fine too but understand the worry! May be worth ringing 111 if you are concerned though for extra reassurance.

Mine did this once. I panicked a bit and took her to the walk in and they just said to keep an eye. She was fine and now tries to eat the dog's food if she's given the chance haha

He will be absolutely fine, kids eat sudocrem all the time (obviously not on purpose!). He won’t have had much of it as the taste isn’t nice

It actually says on the label "no known case of overdose" Sudocrem is very mild.
He'll be fine, don't worry.

I’m aware of a child with learning difficulties who ate an entire pot of Sudocream !
there isn’t anything toxic in it,
just seek medical advice if your child develops any signs of being poorly - highly unlikely x

Thank you that's put my mind at ease as he has got the sensory form of autism so he does put non food items in his mouth, a few months ago it was his own stool so I did ring 111 for that as he could have been poorly but he was fine and then 3 weeks ago he ate dirt at nursery and now sudocrem, he grabbed the tub just after I changed him and that's when he did it, I did wash him straight after and I gave him a drink too and the sudocrem smell has gone out of his mouth now, it is hard having a child with needs xx

There was less than half a tub before he grabbed it and when he grabbed it he put most of it on his face and in his hair and on his hands so he must have only just put his finger in his mouth, he's only been putting non food items in his mouth since he started in his new room at nursery and they're letting him do that and because of his level of understanding he thinks it's ok to do the same at home too, he has got the development age of a 2 year old too xx

Does your child suffer from epilepsy/ seizures?
If not, why do you think they'll have a seizure after eating a little bit of sudocrem?

No he doesn't but I saw it on Google that it causes seizures but he's fine today it hasn't affected him so he should be fine

I went to drop dishes in the kitchen and my daughters painted themselves with sudocreme and licked the rest.30 mins later they both vomitted it was everywhere and tonight one has pooed completely white and smelling of creme.111 says not to panic give loads of liquid they will be fine.
I am so exhausted.
