Tooth Extraction

Hi, i'm not sure if there is anyone with dental experience that can help. I had a tooth extraction on Friday and am worried with how it's looking.

Looks very similar to mine. It took a good few weeks to heal, and looked gnarly AF for a lot of that.

I actually had a small sliver of tooth pop out a few days ago and the healing since that has been amazing.

If you're in pain, maybe go back and ask them to put something in to help, I don't know the name of it but it tastes like Cloves. Vile, but helpful

Shell1964 · 15/05/2023 19:09

Thanks, touch wood the pain has been manageable with paracetamol. The dentist is ringing me tomorrow to check how it's going.

For FUCKS SAKE. No one wants to look at that without a warning!

No. Have an iota of intelligence about what people might want to look at without warning whilst browsing Mumsnet.

Lewiscapaldiscat · 15/05/2023 19:45

Looks normal - your blood clot is in there so that’s good. Looks healthy

CornishGem1975 · 15/05/2023 19:49

Looks okay. Good sign that the blood clot is in there still, lose that and you'll be in a world of pain! I continued to gently rinse with salt water for about a week after extraction just to keep it clean.

I didn't mean to offend anyone but don't know why people have to use bad language when making a comment.

The title was tooth extraction - there was a good chance there could have been a picture ! Over reaction much !!

Capitalismwantsyou · 15/05/2023 20:12

Thanks for this post, it made me smile. I had my wisdom teeth removed on fri so feeling sorry for myself 😄

No there was not. Most people who post a gross photo (WHY?) would have the manners to warn in the thread title. I've read literally thousands of threads on Mumsnet about medical conditions without having to navigate past a stomach churning photo.

Whilst i was initially taken back at the photo, i find it quite useful to know what a healthy extraction looks like. Thanks OP. What's to be offended by? Think you won't need that knowledge in future?

CornishGem1975 · 16/05/2023 20:41

Good heavens, IT'S A GUM not a frigging arsehole.

AllTheWorldIsGreen · 16/05/2023 20:49

To be fair, an arsehole would probably have been prettier.

Shell1964 · 16/05/2023 21:51

Thank you for the nice comments. I was close to taking it down, I get some people maybe offended but it's just sad when they have to use horrible language to get their point across.

Christ. I have to have a tooth out soon and am now terrified. Doesn't it hurt OP? Looks really sore.

WeAllHaveWings · 16/05/2023 21:58

Whenever I see these photos I always wonder how the op gets their phone in their mouth far enough to take the picture!

Haha thankfully it didn't have to go in my mouth!

To be honest I was very nervous as I'd never had a needle in the gum before but it was fine and so far pain wise it's been manageable with over the counter painkillers.

The title is tooth extraction and OP has shown a photo of a tooth extraction. If you can't work out that there might be a photo there that's on you.

Get a grip, it's a mouth.

It looks absolutely fine OP, don't worry!

Thank you, didn't set out to offend anyone. Didn't think it was that bad 🙈

Some very over sensitive people on this thread. Apparently.

gamerchick · 17/05/2023 10:59

Looks like it's on the mend to me. I'm impressed you managed to take a photo. Sterling holding gob in the right place skills that.

Need to bit of a thicker skin to swearing though. People swear on here, especially when someone's pointed out they don't like it.

Yes you are probably right, think I just need to ignore and move on 🙂
