PEPTO BISMOL - Where's it gone?

Has it been discontinued? I haven't been able to get it at any local pharmacy since before the pandemic. Each time I ask they simply say they haven't got it in stock. It works way better than Gaviscon for us, so if any has any info about it pls post.

I haven't been able to get any either for about a year.

I was told there was a shortage but it's neve re-appeared

We can't find it either. Boots used to do their own but even that's out.

It is much better than Gaviscon, I agree.

It's very strange, isn't it? why do all the good meds just disappear? Great med for stomach indigestion etc just gone poof!
'Bonjela Once' was a godsend for those with regular mouth ulcers - discontinued.
I'm sure there are others. The annoying thing is they are never replaced with anything else that's works the same way. Just told to use the other rubbish brands.

I googled it and Pepto seems to pop up on ebay Confused and the price is Shock.

I found on their website it's an issue with an ingredient that won't be resolved until summer 2024+. I then found a pack of 10 pills at home so have been rationing

I think we should all look down the back of the sofa might find some pills, half bottles who knows. @Piggywaspushed You could do a roaring trade.

Same ! If someone goes to the US I put my order in. The pepto extra strength is the only thing that helps me .

You have to be careful when ordering it off ebay, I just nearly fell foul of it. Made the purchase, paid and everything then noticed the expiry date on it - 24/5/23!!! i think people are just flogging off their own bottles at home.

Night Nurse has been withdrawn as well, Benylin as well, I dread to think what I'll do when my stash runs out, it's the only thing that works if I get a chesty cough. It got me through Covid.

The US sells Pepto Kids as a strawberry tablet. I sometimes wonder if it would be better then pinning her down to give her Omeprezole, but never seen it sold over here.

Got to add though -those of you taking regularly for indigestion please be mindful that long term acid reflux/heartburn can damage cells and lead to cancer.
Been there , had the chemo and surgery.

I’ve bought own brand stuff on Ebay - I got the chewable tablets and if you buy a large pack of them it works out less expensive (although is still pricey). I’ve been on the lookout for PB since the first Covid Christmas as that was the last time I managed to get hold for some.

Been in touch with uk manufacture and they advise it should be back in stores late 2023 early 2024

they are experiencing very short supplies in ingredients.

KAC76 they gave me the same spiel last year, said it would be back on the shelves end of 2022/beg 2023. I have a horrible feeling it’ll never be available here again. I’m so disappointed as it was the only think which helped with all my daily gut issues, nothing else helps.
